I was thinking of going with the Milwaukee 2848-20 tire inflator. My boss has one and I was impressed with how quickly it inflates the tire as well as the fact that it can be set to a tire pressure and stop automatically. But was wondering what everyone else was using.

Not sure if this meets your definition of portable, but I got an ARB, cut off the battery clamps and installed anderson connectors for the hitch plug (and carry the clamps with andersons as a backup).

Please ignore the hose on the pic, using a 4-way system from Front Row Offroas these days

I wouldn't recommend that Milwaukee air compressor. It has some nice features and may sound convenient if you already have a cabinet full of 18v Milwaukee tools. But it only puts out 1.5 CFM, which is very low. An ARB Twin puts out 6 CFM and is no longer considered one of the fastest compressors by a long shot. A brushless ARB Twin puts out 9 CFM, and many compressors are putting out 10 CFM these days

Something which clamps to the battery terminals. The ones which go to the cig lighter are weak and sometimes pop the fuse.

And run the engine while pumping.

My ARB Twin Portable Air Compressor. It draws about 65-80 amps so you need a good power connection.

I have an external power connection that comes off of my Genesis Gen 3 Dual Odyssey 25 Battery System and I have a battery cut-off switch to shut the power down. With this setup I don't have to raise the hood to connect the air compressor.

We have two JLURs so I didn't want a permanently installed air compressor. I've had the Viair 450p since 2017 and it is still going strong with zero issues. 100% duty cycle. I can air up tire after tire all day if needed with no cool down period.

Now we're talking! 12.3 CFM. That is 350 L/min. A pump that puts out 25 L/min is going to take 14 times longer to fill a tire.
Yep its a lot, but if anyone uses one of these style compressors (thors lightning, morrflate, etc my understanding is theyre all basically the same thing) just wear gloves. The pressure gauge fittings get HOT with that much compressed air being pushed through that fast.
