NOTE: I am not interested in an Onboard system. I want to be able to take it with me if I change Jeeps.

i searched through past threads and saw a bunch of mentions of ARB twin brushless. What do you recommend and why?

If youre just looking for a portable compressor just get whatever the popular powerful Viair one is.

ARB makes a good portable kit.

My Viair 400P is going on 15 years of service with no real complaints. The zipper on the bag broke and the trigger on the gun is slow to release. But I built a 4 tire kit so I can inflate all 4 tires at once so I don't use the gun now anyway. Other than that it's working great.

If you want bling ARB dual brushless with a tank. I've used an ARB single portable for years. Too cheap to upgrade.

I’ll probably get flamed for this but I’ve been using this for a while and it works great. Fills my 37’s and has filled 37’s and 35’s one after another with no real issue other than getting hot at the valve port. $100 is good for me. Had a buddy with a smaller ARB and he burnt it up using his 35’s in less than a year. Not saying ARB’s are bad (I think they are actually the gold standard) but heck people think this is crap because it’s not name brand and it works great.

The best $50 I’ve spent and works with any 120v outlet.

Yea thats just a Viar knockoff, this one, or harbor freight would be fine. No need to spend a ton of money on a portable compressor.

Also @FuncleMike any under seat system could be removed to move to another vehicle.

Some of those knock offs are hit or miss. I've seen more than one of them fail (each a different way).

You can take your chances with them and many do reasonably well. And at less than half the cost, it's still cheaper to replace them once or twice than to buy the name brand ones. But I like that my name brand compressor is running strong after almost 15 years.

ditto my 400P has about 100 hours on it at least been using it since 2012 or so...I even ran over it once and it still works.....hard to beat for the money...I have two buddies with the Morrflate system and those are pretty impressive too.

I have been using the Milwaulkee battery air inflator with a 8.0 battery. I filled all 4 35 inch tires up from 25 to 40 psi in 12 minutes and still had 1/2 battery. I carry the 12 volt battery top off so the battery is always full when needed.

I paid a butt load for an ARB portable and then paid even more to convert it to an onboard system. Storing a portable one after use when it is hot sucks. Worry about people stealing it when I offroad with the top off sucks. Having to open the hood and hook everything up to use it sucks. Having it sit in the dirt when using it sucks.
