I think rust will be more of a concern than tariffs or corporate greed price hikes.
There is a white one for sale (private owner) were i live. Not as clean as pictured but nicely kept for its years of service.

The toughest part about having a disagreement/argument/discussion/debate on the Internet, is that it's typically not real time and it's hard to share a rebuttal. We should make one main page and everyone who makes a point, that point gets pasted on the main page and rebuttals by it so we can discuss in depth, specific talking points.

The next toughest part is that not every opinion is based on the same facts. Opinions are formed by life experiences and if my experiences are different than yours, we're going to have vastly different opinions.

My opinion is that the Jeep Wrangler will continue to increase in cost as everything has since I was born. Hopefully they'll be able to control that cost increase and continue to make a fun vehicle that consumers can afford.

That would suck if the little 4 banger JLUR I have ran up to 392 prices! ouch!

Everyones a freaking middleman now. So much money wasted to a middle man. People are buying crap on Alibaba and then selling it on Amazon. I don't necessarily see anything wrong with that, if you can do it and it's no immoral or illegal and you can make a buck, good for you. However, my almost 40 year old adopted child worked for a couple who started 3 businesses doing exactly this. They bought stuff on some cheap websites then had an Amazon store and sold it. They didn't ever touch or see product, everything was done all automatically. That sounds like a huge pyramid scheme. Granted, all three businesses went under, I'm sure people are still doing this though.
I'm confused as to how that's a pyramid scheme.

To me it sounds like capitalism. Seeing an opportunity to make a legal business and making it happen.

Social Security was originally instituted for spouses of American veterans that died in WW1. It was corrupted afterwards by politicians to what it is today.
Wait, it was 17 years after the fighting ended before we decided to help those spouses? Do you seriously think that was its focus? Do you really think that was more important (17 years later "important") than the Great Depression that was going on?

It originally was a federal veterans pension fund only, but became nationalized (and renamed) for all seniors during the Great Depression as part of the New Deal.

Context is key, right?

Based solely on what I've heard, not first hand experience, this couple had to get involved with some other investors and had to pay in some money to get this Amazon store built and get product through the manufacturer directly then they had to get some other investors for the next store and the third store, seemed scheme-y to me. It felt like "just pay us money and you'll get rich!" when my oldest adopted child was explaining it to me.

Agreed. Take out "Alibaba" and "Amazon" and think of it in the context of the stock market... buy low... sell high. Capitalism at work.

I couldn't help but notice you've mentioned your "adopted" child like 3 times today. As someone who was adopted, it just makes me curious....

But anyway, importers, warehousers, wholesalers, resellers and distributors aren't uncommon in retail supply chains, so it's hard to say without knowing...

first a tariff on a vehicle is only going to be the percentage of parts from the other country not on top of total price. Even a ram built in mexico, has a vast amount of US made parts. Lets be honest, they build rams in Mexico, because the unions forced the companies hand

second, tariffs will go away as soon as deals are made, mark my words.

I'm with you 100% on everything you said. Only thing which I want to embellish on, is just how many things on the Jeep Wrangler is made in China. I'll put it this way, at this moment I don't know of anything that isn't manufactured in China, and then assembled here. So I guess the question would end up being what is FCA's cost for the parts, and then add 20% of that, regardless of what they charge us. The likelihood is, every single portion of the Wrangler is manufactured in China and then assembled in the USA. I mean there's just so many parts manufactured there I can't imagine everything isn't manufactured there.

That's a tough one though, trying to figure out just which parts are not made in China. I don't even know where you would go to figure that out short of buying all the parts yourself and then looking at the tag that comes on them. 😵🤯
