Both prices are an absolute steal, IMO.

I honestly thought the original pricing was a mistake and it was supposed to be $995.

Keep in mind that is the incremental price from the regular to Gorilla glass. It is not the price of a complete windshield.

At $95 I would have checked the box; at $200...I am not sure. I’ll take my chances.

I just ordered a new Jeep on 8/6 and it was still $95. I work at a dealership and haven't seen a price increase.

I think the extra money no longer justifies the benefits. Gorilla glass won't be a complete cure as the overall thickness of the wind shield should have been made thicker on the outer layer in the first place. Both standard and Gorilla use automotive lime glass for the outer layer....2.3mm vs 3.2mm for a total laminated thickness of 5.36mm vs 4.51 mm. By my math, a standard wind shield would end up being 6.26mm thick to approximately equal the same outer layer strength of Gorilla. That's a small difference in weight no doubt and smells of the EPA. I'd happily carry around a few extra pounds and not pay that 200 dollars for an option that shouldn't even be necessary.

It should come standard. Jeeps have damn near doubled in price over the last 7 years. Nickle and dime everything.

Something to keep in mind if you get ACC/Safety features and Gorilla Glass.

WHEN a rocks cracks it and you need a replacement, good luck finding one. My windshield was replaced recently and despite numerous requests for Gorilla Glass, even if I had to pay extra, both the dealer service department and Safelite advised they couldn't get their hands on GG for Jeep's with ACC/Safety features. Maybe when supply chains catch up in 2030 this won't be an issue, but some food for thought for those considering GG.
