True. It's the American way.The only way to stop price increases and market adjustments and all these other dealership games is to stop buying cars at these prices…
As long as enough people buy the cars at the high prices, they’ll keep selling them. I have noticed the dealer lots filling up and at my local dodge/Ram/Jeep dealer they have started to offer incentives on Ram 1500, Jeep Gladiators and dodge challenger/chargers.
maybe people are stopping buying at the current prices and we’ll see prices go down.

This. Not watching the whole dumb video, but I leased a brand new JL Sport S in 2018, it was pretty loaded (dual top, tech pack, Alpine, towing, cold weather, etc) and had a window sticker of $45,035. I just built the closest equivalent I could on Jeep.com (no 3.6L/8AT combo I could find but whatever) and it was a sticker of $51,510. $51,510 - $45,035 = $6,475 / $45,035 = 14.4%. Not 48% or whatever. Clickbait.
That’s exactly what’s happening here in Canada. For example, back in 2021 when I considered going 4xe Rubi, both loaded 4xe and regular Rubicon were at $72000. The regular Rubi had a $7000 incentive that brought the price down to $65000. The 4xe Rubi had zero rebate. The dealer said it was because the governement was giving $7000 to go 4xe, so there was no rebate from the factory. The rebate was the $7000 Gov incentive which brought the prices for both the regular and 4xe Rubi to the same price. So technically, it is the dealer that made that $7000, not the customer. The dealer even claimed it for the customer directly from the Gov. That Con practice avoided me from switching. Had both Rubis been the same price, but the 4xe an additional $7000 which would have meant that the 4xe was $7000 cheaper tham the regular Rubi, a 4xe is what I’d be driving today.IMHO, they increased all prices across the board so they get the $7500 EV tax credit and not YOU…
I cannot believe that people are paying ADMs on Kias and Hyundais. I never thought I'd see that day. but here we are.This.
A similarly equipped Jeep wasn't 48% less expensive 5 years ago then the one you could get today. Jeep just cut way back building cheaper models and trims. That video shows that Jeep is trying to go upmarket and having a hard time of doing so. Kia and Hyundai are trying the same thing and having a better go of it.
