Unless they (plaintiff's) can prove regulatory non-compliance or a design/ manufacturing defect that Jeep ignored, this is going no where.

I think civil lawsuits can use a 'reasonable man' test.

My Mazda Miata got a lot of cracks and chips. 1. My Miata was super low and got hit by everything that was kicked up. 2. There is a lot of crap, rocks, debris, on the roads. More than I expected.

On a related note - is there a windshield at any price that doesn’t just completely suck?

I’m getting my 4th in 2 yrs installed this AM - trying whatever the Safelite special is this time. 1 OEM and 2x Gorilla each lasted only a few months each.

The real sting is throwing away an additional $100 for each time I tint one.

Coincidentally - my premiums went up about $80/6months - kind of figured I’m paying for everyone’s windshields and roll-overs.

This one has chapped me for years. I've had a: 92 YJ, 11 JKU, 12 JKU, 18 JLU, 20 JT, and 21 JT with the flat windshields. NONE of them ever cracked a windshield. I drive all types of roads from 25 MPH one lane county roads to 70 MPH interstates. There's a rock quarry 1.5 miles from my house with dump trucks pulling onto the highway all day long. In December it was -28F here. Yesterday it was 91F here. I have never seen the issue with these windshields.

Yet, if you go to the JL forum guys gripe and moan about the windshields constantly. I chalk it up to the whine and cry mentality in society today. If there was a problem I would have found it by now.

Anecdotal, but I've read a few good comments here about the HGP windshields. They also use Gorilla Glass, but are not the same windshields as the Mopar GG..

FCA should counter with “If you’d fold your windshield down, that little gnat bastard wouldn’t be able to break it”.

And class action suits are stupid. Lawyers are gonna get $20,000,000 and Jeep owners will get about 17 cents.
I'm actually surprised there isn't a warning label on the a-pillar to wear a helmet and/or eye protection when driving with the windshield down.

Ope... someone will probably try to turn a buck on that too.

"OUT OF STOCK"

Anyone get insurance to cover one of these? List seems comparable to Gorilla, no idea what insurance would give them.

Better yet - has anyone taken them up on their 2 yr warranty?
