Ave. 26 MPG city/hywy in Sahara Diesel.
That’s awesome. I’ve only got a few hundred miles on my diesel; been sheltering in place these days. But it looks like I’ll end up in that area.

So you're saying your 2.0 is getting the same as the diesel? How fast were you going and was it downhill?
I don't know what the diesel is getting?

He has a Sport with Sport gears. I don't doubt him getting 27-28 mpg on occasion under ideal conditions.

I usually average 18-20 mpg hand calculated. That's driving normal with about 70% city driving. I have gotten as high as 26 mpg all highway.

Yesterday I was getting stir crazy staying home. Yesterday I took a 120 mile drive just to do something and to charge the battery. Drove 60 miles each way with no traffic. It was all dead flat highway, average speed was 70 mph. I averaged 25.8 hand calculated. That was on premium gas, probably still winter blend. It's impressive because unlike the OP who has Sport gears, I have a stock '19 JLR 2.0T with the Rubicon gears.

I am not saying i would get 26 mpg all day and everyday. I am saying it's very possible to get 25-26 mpg under ideal conditions. I would say my average highway when there is traffic is probably 22-23 mpg. 18-20 mpg combined with mostly city is normal. 25-26 mpg all highway is definitely possible. I have done it several times in summer with A/C blasting.

I have a 3.6 two door and mine went up from 17 to 19.9! I think it’s because free flowing traffic on the freeways and I’ve been using adaptive cruise control which works great and I can’t believe I haven’t been using it this whole time. ACC is awesome. I still think I should be getting more than 19.9 without ACC. Was hoping for at least 21.

I have the 2.0 and you have a 3.6 but I wonder if your engine improved after a few thousand miles also?

How many miles do you have now? Did you pay attention to what the milage was when your mpg started to improve?

I don't know why exactly, probably engine breaking in and piston rings seating? My mileage improved right at around 3000-4000 miles. I went from 14-16 mpg to about 18-20 mpg right around the 3000-4000 mile range. This is my average combined city/highway mileage.

I have 3541 right now. I always keep track of my mpg because I really want it to go up so I just noticed the last few times I’ve driven it, which isn’t much. I usually get combined city/hwy 17 mpg. If you have a 2.0 and right now you’re only getting 18-20 maybe I’m doing pretty good with my 3.6.
I see a bunch of people mentioning "highway speeds". This could be a speed limit anywhere between 65 & 85 MPH.
I don’t drive fast so I always stay within 60-70. I don’t take it over 70 too often.

3.6 JLUR, 3.5" MC Gamechanger lift, 37" Nittos, LOD sliding roof rack. I get around 13mpg, and that's with me babying it. What is weird for mine is I lost about 1mpg on average after a trip to the local offroad park, no changes except new alternator and new radiator (don't ask why). Before I would get about 280 miles to a tank before refueling, now about 240 miles a tank.

I have Rubicon gears and ratio which should get worst mpg then the sport gears you have. I bet you milage will go up a little more after the motor wears in.

I’m running 33s on my 2.0, some city, and averaging 23.5 MPG over the last 7000 miles. I’ve been as high as 26 and as low as 16, driving into a headwind at 80 MPH. Florida is rather forgiving on MPGs, without much hills, and living outside of town, but I make a trip into town every other day, averaging 60 MPH outside of town. Not being a maniac on the skinny pedal helps greatly too - although I DO rise to the occasional challenge at stop lights!

No complaints here!
