Do you remember back in 2019 there were forum members saying how slow the diesel was going to be? There was one member going on and on about how boring it would be, etc.
I think back about those posts often when driving mine. I find this power plant & drivetrain to be very satisfying to...
Many years ago, about 1980, a college buddy had his dadās Mazda rotary pickup. He and I set out to replace the rear brake shoes, and the passenger rear drum was very much stuck. It wasnāt until I doused the brake drum with cold water, after first heating with a torch, that it popped loose.
Thereās a fair amount of discussion about this in the gears section. Hereās one of the links.

the sensor assemblies come from TE, or at least they did a few years ago. Even having...
The sensor is a Hall-based one. Thereās only two wires going to this sensor. The current level it consumes makes a step change in value depending on the position of the magnet to the sensor.
I donāt remember if the locked or the unlocked state produces the lesser current. We know that...
Although not 100% apples to apples (trans differences mainly) I will offer that my wife and I have owned 3 Wranglers with the 3.6 Pentastar and now drive one with the 2.0. It just felt like life is too short to keep driving the same engine. The 2.0 is a refreshing change. Itās more fun to...
I imagine thatās true from a structural standpoint. But after only 3yrs my first Wrangler, before I started using FF, the undercarriage had lost enough of its factory paint and had a lot of surface rust. On a lower vehicle like a car, it wouldnāt show much. But so much more is visible on our...
I donāt think Iād worry about that. People that go mudding subject their running rear to some nasty gunk. Not that that is good for it either, but I donāt think the FF attracting stuff is any worse.
I bought back in 2015, a 5 gal pail of FF from eBay. It was a better buy than the 1gal from...
Iāve been using FF for 8 years now, on our Wranglers and pickup. The truck, when we traded it last spring showed virtually no rust underneath. It is kind of messy, attracting dirt, etc. But when I pressure washed it off, it still looked really good underneath.
The work being done to replace the pump is downstream of the fuel filter. Thereād be no harm in changing the filter at that time, but would be no real benefit either. Unless it was time for it to be changed anyway.
I had no prior inspection either. Iād asked the dealer about parts availability a month or so ago, they ordered the parts and called when they arrived. My appointment for installation was then scheduled for about a week later (which was yesterday).
I drove the Jeep again today and looked it...
