never once, looks are subjective but I personally think the two door just looks funny compared to the four door version...I think the 4-door is much more popular and its not just the practicality aspects

I come from an era long before 4 door jeeps were thought of. We never had a problem with practicality in 2 door Jeeps back then. Still don't. I guess some people feel that they need a 4 door Jeep. But deep down, most 4 door owners who are Jeep purists secretly want a 2 door.

Specifically for the JL or you think all 2 door Jeeps look funny?

Why not get one of each? Planning on trading our ‘17 JK Recon for a 2D this summer.

Younger people will think the 2 door has odd proportions, since 4 doors have been largely predominate in the last 15 years. I think the JLU looks much better with the top off then the JKU did. It as a lot to do with the profile of the roll bar.

If a person has one vehicle to do it all, can't get a second for whatever reason, then the 4 door is the logical choice.

That having been said, I've always had 2 doors, and always will. I like the size and the look. I have an F150 crew cab truck and my wife has a Wagoneer if we need the seating or hauling room.

Any of my fellow 4 door Jeep owners relate? Sometimes, I wonder why I got the 4 door. A two door sounds like a lot more fun, especially thinking back to my YJ/TJ days. Now I don’t have kids, so there is that. My dogs don’t take up much room. It would be nice to have a shorter top to take down. Just day dreamin over here!
YES! Get a 2 door! Chicks dig 2 door Wranglers. I can get 3 in mine. 4 if someone hands out breath mints first. A 4 door Wrangler is like a 4 door Corvette!

Couldn't agree more. Modded four doors look sooooo much better and balanced, not like a kids tinker toy two door. And when you say "well if I need more room I can take the rear seat out"....you've lost the argument right there.

Careful now. There is a member on this forum that equates 2 doors with poverty. Think real hard before you decide to look as poor as me!

I debated this too...I had the itch after having a JKU for 15 years and then buying a JLU. I'm married, no kids, dogs, but they rarely ride with me/us. So......it was mainly the 4 doors for loading gear (kiteboards, surf equipment, being able to throw a MTB in the back, sleep in the back all of that).

WIth that said, the itch didn't go away, and I had a old Bronco reservation for a 2 door that actually got built. 2 Door, 7MT, 35's, etc. and with all of the price protection it was basically an even swap for my '21 JLU with 14k miles. I hate to say it, but the 2 door works like a champ. I have to make some adjustments definitely, but so far I'm pretty happy with the decision. The 2 door Bronco is definitely a bit bigger than the JL, but I think when/if I go back to a Jeep it will be back to a 2 door.

I have had a 2 door and a 4 door. I like both of them. There are times when I appriciate the extra space in the Unlimited, but it's not that often that I need the extra space.

The practicality of two doors depends wildly on your situation, and how much you're willing to do to adapt.

My Jeep is the perfect size me for and my kid to go camping together, my wife is practically a house-cat and has no interest, so it fits all of our gear just great even though she's in a carseat, which limits space significantly.

Do you need to haul a lot of gear AND passengers? If you need to haul passengers and gear are you willing to get a roof rack storage system? hitch-cargo carrier? trailer? etc

With the backseat in, I can fit my coleman instant tent (way bulkier than a lot of tents of similar size, for setup/breakdown convenience), coleman cot (big and bulky), kids cot, camp table, and chairs in the back with room to stick pillows or blankets or whatever above them. I stick other hard gear in the floorboards, sleeping bags and soft bags in the rear seat next to my kid, then the ice chest in the front passenger seat (I buckle it in like a person because it makes me laugh).

Once she's older and can sit up front, this gets even easier. If I needed to take a third passenger, a hitch cargo carrier would free up all the room I needed for them.

Somehow we all survived before the boom in 4-door-everything, so unless you are taking a spouse and 3 kids on trips, a 2 door can likely fit your needs.

I live out of my Jeep, and there is no way I would want to do it in a 2-door.
