Why not a manual lock button on the tailgate (No power locks) ?

it kinda o of pain in the @$$ to crawl over the seat to get out from the cargo area. beside. theres no handle on the inside of the tailgate. so no reason to have one.

Do you mean on the inside? You can modify the tailgate to access the lock rods, if you really feel it’s necessary. Most vehicles don’t have that.

When closed, the inner structure of the tailgate extends just over the fold up floor panel. That was a design feature for turning the rear cubby into a secured place for valuables. If someone broke a window and climbed in, they couldn't access that spot without hitting the unlock button. If they did that, the alarm would trigger.
