2DR is the real deal. Drove a TJ until it got to 240k miles. Didn't even consider a 4dr.

Lighter, quicker, tighter turning, shorter stopping, better breakover, better looking and the modern embodiment of the legendary Jeep.

Meh (Rubicon Automatic 4-door = 4,340 lbs / 2-door = 4,129) If you just want the legendary 2door but modern BS has closed the race.

And this is not even worth discussing Due to the length difference, you'll find that the regular Wrangler is a bit more maneuverable. With a turning radius of 17.3 feet, you'll find it easier to corner when compared to the Wrangler Unlimited's 20.4-foot turning diameter. That can also be reduced in the 4DR. I might have to reverse a bit...but doable.

If you really want that feel, buy a 2door sport and upgrade it with 20k axle and suspension upgrades.

That's the 2DR I would want!!
Food for thought— 65–71 V6 had as much power in the early ones and I believe there was a carburetor upgrade on the later ones to more HP than the V8 smog motor “super Jeep” . Also shorter, lighter, better mpg, Or find one with a quality V8 swap. ?

I'm divorced with 4 kids. 2 in school, 2 adult. The 2 door works great for me. I drop my daughter off on my way into work and pick her up on the way home. Normally keep my seat tumbled since it's just her and I most of the time. I fold it back down when I need to. But my kids grew up with me having my Camaro for a good stretch of their childhood. We had some combination of a Grand Caravan, Durango and/or Trailblazer for times we needed to all be headed somewhere together when I was married.

I've camped for the better part of a week down in the Southwest out of my JLR. Never really lacked for room. Just had to be somewhat selective in what I brought with me tho I still managed my large ground tent and queen size air mattress. Just made a few stops along the way between campsites to restock supplies.

So, I just don't buy into the "need" for a bigger 4 door. I've made a 2 door something or other work for more than a decade or so with a larger than average family.

And those 2doors weighed 3k lbs not 4k. I have a buddy with a TJ and the 4L here.. his 2 door is like 3klbs.

If I have to drive a 4k+ jeep just as soon have some storage and fancy electronics on it.

I was surprised the first time I did a U-turn on my street in my new 4-door, when I realized it swung wider than my WK2 Grand Cherokee - where the GC could just hug the curbs and flip around in one turn, the 4-door Wrangler needed to use a bit of the sidewalk. Not a big deal for me, it was just interesting learning that about it.

Yep— muscle car shaming power-weight with an L79- Muncie swap. But requires upgrading the rest of the drivetrain and frame reinforcement to not have problems.(63 MD “5”) :like: Former post corrected— windshield leaned back in 76.

My two door sport with 37s and 4.88s is a blast to drive and even with axles and lift I’m into it for way less than a stock rubi.

Probably have to carry a few extra pairs of underwear ?
Should be OK with a 392, similar power- weight as my Corvillys/Willette “5”. However, a Hellcat would require “Depends Maximum” as my 5 did after 700HP blown Chevy install.

In all honesty, I have nothing against the 4-doors. With lifts and 37's I think they look really good. In my case, though, I don't think I have room in my garage for a 4-door. Even with the 2-door I have to take the bike rack off to close the garage door... :)
