Anybody have a 2024 with factory winch that has disconnected negative aux cable? If so got a photo of which cable is neg to aux? Don't want to mess up and disconnect wrong one. Thanks.
I just picked up my 2 door Rubicon, 4:88, 35's, 3.6 L, after it had its rear axle replaced at 90 miles. After driving the Jeep again, the rear end howl is mostly gone. But upon reflection, I do think an auto would be best choice for OP. You need to be pretty dedicated to tolerate the sacrifices...
I totally agree. I am not sure what the agenda the powers at Jeep are pushing. Surely it doesn't have to do with engine/transmission performance. Maybe something about corporate mileage goals. Who knows. Ultimately I think this discussion will be null and void as the manual option is eliminated.
The argument regarding auto vs manual is nonsensical at best. Don't want to shift, buy an auto, want to play with a manual transmission, buy accordingly. Win-win. This constant bickering regarding advantages and disadvantages of each transmission is getting rather boring at best.
You are correct. Another theory shot to hell! Guess I will find out soon enough regarding the new axle assembly. If this one sounds like Lassie, then not sure what plan B might be...
It will be interesting if the new axle howls. Then it most likely because of the new free float design which Jeep introduced in 2024. Either way, got 36000 or 3 years to sort out...NOT. Vehicle will be traded well before then!
Good to know. Dealer overnighted a new rear axle assembly. Jeep should be good to go middle of next week. Most likely will drive it through the summer and order a 2025 when they become to be. Hoping Pumpkin becomes available. About done with the gray tones. Thanks for reply.
Update for the group: dealer tried to shim gears to spec. Still had howl. Suspected carrier bearings. Ordered new rear axle assembly. I meet with them today to decide my next step. Either wait for the axle or trade up to same 2 door but with auto. Ugh.
