Same, the relatively cheap Hike-In X9 been working for me (3.0D). I put it on the slowest-response ”eco” mode - slower than stock - but it definitely has an obvious anti-lag effect even on eco. When I take it out for dealer visits the lag built into the pedal or the stock controller curve is very apparent. Should be similar for the 2.0T I guess

I purchased my X9 from a fellow Jeep owner. I must've acclimated to it rather quickly, because when driving the Jeep with it disconnected (on my way to the dealer for a potential warranty issue), the 2.0T's stock throttle programming was laggier than I recall it being prior to installing the X9.

I'm under no illusion of having add'l. horsepower, but the practical effect of a throttle controller -- in my case, getting into more boost, sooner and easier -- is cheap fun.

Alright. Thanks for the explanation. I never deleted anything that states “regen” I will check my I dash and see what’s up. Thanks

Wait a second. I was told that I could easily do the same thing with my foot, for free. Or...are you claiming that matching a throttle controller simply through foot manipulation is not practical?

It just takes one drive to convince non-believers. :)

Well, you might be able to do it with your foot, but not for free and not smog legal. I believe Holley makes replacement TB/ cable linkage systems for some applications. Or get the Banks and you can duplicate the manual linkage performance. Or + - as preferred with the I-dash in a factory looking pod on either the top or bottom of the grab handle. .. Very Pleased.

for those concerned about dealer visits, my service guy checked it for any footprint/codes to see if it needed to be unplugged before service. There were none.

When I had my JT Mojave M/T with Pedal Commander, never took it out for dealer visits. Did two oil changes through Jeep Wave and dealer never commented on it. The only thing I did was to turn the commander off to stock position.
In fact, the dealer from whom I bought my Jeep sells Pedal Commander.

I just took my Jeep in to a somewhat fussy dealer. He said that PedalMonsters and iDashs were no problem, but Derringers were another matter. [I didn't have one] I know that forum members cite the Magnuson-Moss act all the time, but from a practical matter, I'm not sure what can be done if they blacklist your Jeep. How difficult is it to overturn their denial? To a judge, they're the experts. Unless they claim something absurd, like the Derringer caused your windshield wipers to fail, I suspect they would prevail, short of a boatload of lawyer's fees.

The dealers would tend to be flexible, because YOU are their customers, but they live in fear of Jeep's warranty department.

I had my Jeep temporary blacklisted by a very sketchy and incompetent dealership. I called them out on it, ran it up the corporate chain just to find out they retaliated by blacklisting my Jeep. Nothing Derringer or mod related. Later found a very competent and well-run dealership specializing in Wranglers accustomed to modifications of all kinds. That service manager was able to clear the blacklisting fairly easily. Did you uninstall your Derringer? I recall at one time you did have one? I have the Derringer and haven't experienced a need to disconnect it so far, knock on wood. If you have could you please share? Recalling a post some time back on a tip to easily, and temporarily disconnect the Derringer for dealer visits. I recall you found some type of pigtail that came in the original kit. Anyway if that part was accurate could you please share it again. I have the idash pedal monster and Derringer setup. It would certainly help to ease and simplify the removal when visiting the dealer. Thanks

I had another car tuned, and one of the things done was remapping the throttle. In fact, part of the tuning process was datalogging 9 different throttle maps to target a specific engine operation at various camshaft settings (throttle would work as normal, but at WOT would force a target value like 25%, 50%, 75%, etc.)

The final tune flattened the OEM throttle curve... the exact opposite of what every throttle enhancer does (yes I'm aware you can tune some on the fly, so don't "bUt bUT BUt" me). This was for better low speed drivability and more accurate throttle control. It took a few days to get used to, but flashing back to stock made me realize that I prefer the most throttle control as possible. This is especially true for something that will be driven off road and/or has a non linear torque curve.

Doesn't one of the modules have the ability to monitor driving behaviors and adjust accordingly? I had a cheap chinese one but I never understood the settings so I'm wondering if one with Bluetooth is worth the extra coin. Thoughts?

Hikeit does. Auto IQ mode based on your current driving style. I have had Hikeit for a few years now and would highly recommend.

If you just set it and forget it, bluetooth is not really beneficial. Bluetooth would be good to have if you keep the device hidden, like behind the felt liner under the dash, and if you need to adjust the settings, you can do it with your phone.

Well I ordered HikeIt and several days go by and I hadn't heard anything so I double checked the order and there was a tracking # associated with it. So I was like "sweet!". Unfortunately the tracking number didn't work so I emailed Hikeit (couldn't find a way to call them) and they replied the next day (I guess they aren't in the US) and he said he would check on it. Fast forward 2 days and he replies say it got lost and he would refund my money. Sooooooo, almost 2 weeks of wasted time and no module. Obviously not going with a hikeit at this point. Suggestions that actually get delivered? Wouldn't mind having one that adjusts to the driver.

Banks....
Agreed. In the throttle enhancer market, Banks is the CLEAR leader - others are not even close. Is this an economic decision that drives buyers to inferior brands? Between the reliable OBD power source and the revert-to-stock when reversing feature, it's a no-brainer (I thought). I'm the OP for this thread and it started out supporting PedalCommander - before I did more research.
