What is winch mode?
You can set a temporary higher idle to help handle the electrical load of the winch while in use.

does Jscan enable the Hood Alarm (like a Tazer does, and J**p should have done)?
Yes.

JScan is better than Tazer for enabling the hood alarm, since the Tazer setting is lost if it's unmarried (such as when on the dealer lot for service). The Tazer also requires the fob panic button to be enabled for the alarm to work. I used JScan to enable the hood alarm, and Tazer to disable the fob panic button, and both settings work simultaneously.

If a 12+8 SGW bypass cable is being used, this means unplugging the SGW and replacing it with the cable and you either leave it that way (SGW not part of the system) or you have to unplug the SGW and plug in the cable each time you need to do diagnostics. And you use the OBD connector on the cable, not the one in the Jeep.
I don't think you need to bypass the SGW for diagnostics, but if you want to permanently change a setting you would need to do so, but if you get an extension for the SGW it's not a big deal to plug/unplug the bypass.

I was a Tazer guy until my JL threw a code and the dealer threatened warranty denial, blaming it on bypassing the SGW. I subsequently converted to JScan. No hardware, cheaper, and WAY more features. And the SGW protection stays in place.

Why do we not hear more about JScan on this forum? Do many members just not know about it?
Say you unmarry your JL Tazer, disconnect it and rehook the factory SGW cables in its place before bringing your JL in for service. Would a dealer know that had installed a JL Tazer before?

And even if you have an SGW Extension Cable. Provided you connect its loose ends from detaching the JL Tazer back into the factory connections have you really bypassed the SGW, as your dealer Rick accuse you of, or just made its cabling a few inches longer?

Rick: as mentioned, there are just some things people want that it takes an actively connected device, sending CANBUS codes, like the JL Tazer, that the Jscan device can't do.

I should warn @Terrymo that @yokramer has the same problem with overly selective hearing/reading as Kelso...

I know a little less than nothing about the Jscan, haven’t even seen one…so I’m not here for the debate. And since I can’t figure out how to post gifs using my iPhone ( feels like the mods were targeting me when they made the changes…🤣), I’m not here for the fun 🤬 …… that leaves the boring ass Q&A 🥱……

My question is, can you use lockers in 4H or rear lockers in 2WD, and disconnect the sway bar nanny free (have it not be speed limited) with the Jscan ?

I like using both.

I use Tazer purely as a SGW bypass, and for its live functions. I don't even bother "marrying" it, as that's not really necessary if you only use its live functions.

I use JScan for all my permanent vehicle settings (tow package activation, aux switch activation, tire size, etc) because, unlike Tazer, the settings really stay permanent. You don't lose them if you unmarry or uninstall anything.

Sorry, brief side track. Why do you need/want to stop sway bar speed limiting. I actually find it useful on mountain "roads" when things smooth out (I'm paying zero attention to speed).

Your other interests in drive wheel control make sense, at least sometimes.
