I am very pro both JSCAN and the Tazer JL. Actually, I encourage a hybrid approach in regard to them... you use both....
I also use both. With the Tazer unmarried, I can change the settings I want with JSCAN, then when the Tazer is re-married it will save everything I set with JSCAN. That way when I have to remove the Tazer for service it will keep my tire size, etc. until it's back from service and I reinstall the Tazer for Start/Stop, Swaykill, Turn Assist, and other off-road functions. Works great for me.

But...in my mind the biggest feature is leaving the SGW intact. If you are facing a major repair, like a blown engine, it's a convenient (and possibly true) excuse to deny your warranty claim. That's what caused me to switch in the first place.
I use JSCAN and Tazer both.

When I blew my radiator off-road while still under warranty I had it towed to my residence to remove anything that could be stolen while at the dealership including things that could wrongfully “be of concern” to the dealership.

I consider the tazer and the ECRI and OBD bluetooth module for JSCAN something that could be stolen. It takes no time at all to unmarry and remove the Tazer no matter where you are. Then I had it towed to the dealership.

JSCAN in and of itself is not a realistic solution to eliminate the start stop function. I can’t speak to anything diesel related

Well, you know @yokramer and @Remorseless are in here so I just want to watch it live.
Either one of them on their own is enough. Get them together and is like WWF tag team. If you’re triggered by gifs this is your opportunity for an intermission and a visit to the concession stands.😂

I was the subject of their nerd rage a few days ago, so I know how good their GIF arsenal is. :CWL:

When connected to the OBD port JScan can only read codes, right? Doesn't the SGW block it from clearing codes and changing settings and all that other good stuff though the OBD port? Diagnostic tools that use the OBD port (with the SGW not bypassed) require a subscription to AutoAuth to get around the SGW, right?

If a 12+8 SGW bypass cable is being used, this means unplugging the SGW and replacing it with the cable and you either leave it that way (SGW not part of the system) or you have to unplug the SGW and plug in the cable each time you need to do diagnostics. And you use the OBD connector on the cable, not the one in the Jeep.

Or you use an ECRI device or Tazer to bypass the SGW (connected in place of the SGW) and then many/most diagnostic tools can use the OBD port, including JScan, without an AutoAuth subscription.
