Does anyone know whether the electrical wire going to the fuel pump can be accessed from somewhere in the interior to install a kill switch? I decided am not routing wires from the engine compartment into the cabin through the firewall.

I don’t know where the wire is, but I can assure you it’s not in the interior.
1. It’s really easy to run a wire through the driver side on these, there’s a plastic grommet you can drill/plug where people run antennas for ham radios, etc. so it wouldn’t be a big deal to do that if you found the fuel pump wire.
2. It’s also pretty easy to get to the starter button and wiring. So wiring a kill switch into that is another option.

Yeah there will be no drilling of any kind on my Jeep....last thing I need is water in the cabin.

I just figured since the pump is in the tank and the tank is towards the back, there must be a wire going from the engine compartment to the gas tank somewhere.

No offense. The drilling I was referring to is into a plastic cap, like a bottle top. It’s easier than trying to tap into a fuel pump wire, so it should be the easiest part of a project like this. The firewall grommet above the brake pedal is the least likely place for water intrusion. You shouldn’t be worried about running a wire through it.

I think tapping into the fuel pump or starter button is the same, but the starter is interior and I don’t think the fuel pump wire comes into the interior. To me that makes a starter kill switch easier (each have pros/cons), that was my point.

That sucks!! I'm not far from GP in DFW and have thrown as many reasonable deterrents on my 22 JLUXR as possible - hood latch locks, locking fuel cap, gorilla lugs, and just picked up a tazer jl ? Too much stuff gets stolen around here

Again they likely didn’t do a replay attack in this case… you do not need any keys any vins anything other than a laptop and some legitimate dodge/Jeep software that anyone can purchase and they or you or anyone simply makes a new key fob from a blank. It is an idiotic design that dodge/Jeep implemented on millions of cars. I have complained about this exhaustively over on the hellcat forums concerning my SuperStock. It’s not oceans 11 to do this it literally is 5 mins with legitimate software requiring no skills and bam I just made a key and off I go.
I found this out the hard way!

Lock it down like Ft. Knox and throw some Air tags on for good measure!

ugh, mine was stolen this morning also. So crazy never thought it would happen where I live
You guys are getting hit hard in that area! I just watched a video of a guy in Toronto that was able to track his Grand Cherokee to a shipping container headed to Nigeria!

This is incredibly frustrating. SO sorry to hear this happened. Does your car insurance cover theft? You might be able to get some help replacing it, especially since you have footage.
Thank you, yes it was covered with insurance but I won't be able to recover the aftermarket mods or items I had inside. I had read somewhere that homeowners insurance covers some personal items left in vehicles but after the deductible I don't believe it would be worth the claim.

So...are many on here parked in public garages, or are you worried about theft at your home garages? Parking garage would seem to scream "steal me".

Aside: we have a person (Walmart heir) here in the valley with a $250M car collection (including TWO Ferrari GTOs). His garage security must be something to see. I saw him last month exercising one of his GTOs - like he was going to the store for a loaf of bread.
I can't speak for the rest on here but I am currently in what I thought was a farily secure parking garage that is attached to the apt. It's not anywhere near secure! :-(

the time will come when there's a confrontation between a jeep owner and a thief caught red handed in carry state.
It's already happening here in Texas....a San Antonio man tracked his truck down with a Apple AirTag and shot and killed the thief!
