You can have the one key simpler deleted from the vehicle so that it no longer functions to remotely open the doors or start the vehicle. The physical key would still open the doors. You need to rekey the doors with a new random cut to remove the nuisance from your mind permanently.

Locksmith was here and completed the house part earlier.
Make sure the fobs are recalibrated differently. I misplaced one and got a new one, both recalibrated together. Found the misplaced one, Still Works!

That locksmith rekeyed the house locks because with the Jeep key was the key to the house. But I get what you are saying

So one of the dealers said they thought this could work. The locksmith is checking into it as the guy who was out today just does home rekey

You may be SOL with console and glove box lock cylinders. They’re usually cheap garbage that can’t be disassembled (re-assembled actually. Everything can be disassembled) for re-keying.
Which is really not protective at all and thats why he gave me the are you serious look. I get it.

Had it been lost or stolen someone had a functional fob and key, even after supposed recal , worrisome, since there is no way to check if the lost one still works, as mine did when found.

In no particular order:

-Change all of the external locks on the house
-Consider security window film
-Change your habits, like driving routes and such. Become unpredictable.
-Carry your wallet on your person (better yet, ditch the backpack or anything like it, unless there's a compelling need to carry one, like personal medical supplies)
-
Document every conversation, phone call, etc. you have with relevant parties: law enforcement, banks, stores, etc. Having notes to refer to can be invaluable.
The backpack is used for work. I keep odd and ends items in it for convenience which also makes it a target. Its really a issue only when I have a helper at work. No excuse but my work van I can lock the cab and keep the back open for my tools. That day I was lazy. In the amount of times we went outside for tools this happened in less than a 5 min span. The neighbors had camera footage of a Uhaul truck that had a suspicious interaction with another neighbor.

It does take a special tool and software that a lot of locksmiths won’t have. You have to perform the complete reset then relearn the remaining or new keys using the “lost all keys” function of the programmer, which is different from learning a new key with a master already learned.

Intresting as I have never used the key to open the doors.

So I have to find a new key fob. Did a search because my local dealer is less than helpful. Couple of different part numbers come up. Anyone had to replace a key fob that can point me in the right direction?

Can you install a kill switch inside your Jeep? my daughter has one in her 4runner and she invariably forgets to switch it back on again when we return to it to drive off. It will not start and has to be physically switched on again for us to go anywhere. It is hidden in back seat area where you just wouldnt think to look. That would certainly give you piece of mind till you can figure the key fobs out. it was a cheap install as she bought all the parts, which are cheap, and her husband wired it up. If you have a Tazer you can program the hood alarm feature should they try to get into the engine bay. The jeep alarm would alert you to someone trying to get into it. Just my 2 cents and i hope you get your peace of mind back. Criminals are ruining everyone's lives at the moment!

I did a quick search and found these. You'd probably still have to take it to the dealer to re-program though

edited: seems like these are just the shell without the computer inside. I have an old FOB I'm not using but it's for manual locks so may not be useful to you :/

It has been a process. I have yet to do anything with the Jeep. Just using the spare for now. I haven't had time to locate a new key.
