Try remote starting your Jeep with the kill switch activated.
Wow, you are right…. The Jeep does start!!!! However, the kill switch having unabled the push start button, will not allow the Jeep to be shifted out of park. Thanks for teaching me this.?

I had also heard and believed it would not start. Something about your post made me go out and try it. Now we know.

No remote start with 3 pedals though!

Covering the vin is something I'll look into.

I already enabled the hood alarm, locking hood latches, and have a manual, lmfao!

I know this is not the right thread, but an aftermarket remote start can be fitted to the manual.

Nope, vehicle can't be started unless the hiden switch is on the on position. whether it be with a remote or even through satelite. Switch off = Jeep dead.

Installed it on mine most likely using the link mentionned above.

So I got :

- Enabled hood alarm with Jscan
- Hood lock
- Covered windshield VIN with a decal
- Ripped-off frame VIN decal
- Steering wheel blocker bar
- Ingition kill switch
- Apple Air pod

Whoever steal's it, almost won it.

That’s actually great. Now I know I can remote start the Jeep if ever I want even if the kill switch is triggered on. I never used it before as I believe that you should drive as soon as the post start revs are down to normal, but hey, that’s another subject?‍♂

There is an owner or two on the TJ forum who have done that and regretted it, mostly because they forgot they left it in gear.
Yeah, out of all the manuals I've owned, never thought it was a good idea. Some of the kits are quite shotty, same with aftermarket install at times.

Not my cup of tea.

Boot your own Jeep? Lol

If the Jeep keys can be cloned via a small tablet like the Dodge HellCats...which its all FCA technology... the thief plugs in to your computer with the tablet - covering your VIN is useless. The thief carry blank key fobs...break in ...plug in the tablet with the locksmith software...bam clone your key.

I nearly had my 2022 Dodge Challenger ScatPack nearly stolen in Dallas Tx. The only thing to save me was the security at the restaurant.

They popped the hood and pulled the relay for the horn to kill that from going off. They then were attempting to plug in to the security gateway/RF Hub to clone a key....

Luckily the place had security and heard the alarm go off before they disabled it.

If these guys want your jeep they will get it - we also have a neutral safety strop like the Dodge Challengers/Chargers do....sometimes the thief's were just popping the cars in Neutral and towing it off.

There is a girl on YouTube who is a big car influencer - cant think of her name at the moment - she had a Manual HellCat that was stolen...

Dont be fooled these car thiefs know cars and how to drive manuals.....its not just some random new generation kid from the neighborhood stealing Jeeps.

Needing to access the SGW on a Wrangler is a theft deterrent all by itself.
