Jeeps definitely aren’t for everybody. There’s no soccer moms driving a two door lifted Rubicon and that’s just the way I like it. Go get a nice IFS SUV. Like everybody else. Bye-bye Felicia.

Don't hate on the OP just because our Jeep quality sucks, and he went elsewhere. Every time something unexpected breaks on my Jeep, I contemplate doing the same.

The OP is obviously frustrated. I have been there myself.

Let's not kid ourselves, Stellantis is a crappy company. They care only about investors. Customers, dealers, suppliers and employees can all rot in hell.
OP had nothing to be frustrated over. Stellantis being a crappy company means nothing with a trouble free Jeep.

There's good reason Stellantis is now only the fifth largest automaker in N.A. and, if current trends hold, it may soon slip to sixth once Honda passes them.

I have enjoyed Jeeps for 28 years and I love my JT. But I do in spite of Stellantis, not thanks to them.
I don't think any of us are fans of the company, we are fans of the Jeeps. Fortunately we don't have to be fans of the company to own, modify, drive, and wheel Jeeps. If you're looking for a vehicle for even moderate trails you'd be a fool to buy anything else. Ford was no better in my experience with them between owning an 06 super duty (all the common 6.0 problems before 100k, so much for diesel reliabilit) and a 2014 focus (autosync or whatever they called the computer controlled, clutchless auto/manual garbage trans that failed multiple times) I'll take Stellantis over them every day and Ford makes the only competition that's even remotely close to the wrangler. Maybe I've just been lucky but we've had 2 XJs, a ZJ, a WJ, and. Tj all go past 100k without issue. The 1st JL was trouble free until it was stolen at 65k. My 2017 ram was trouble free until I sold it at 120k. The 2nd JL has been 100% reliable too. No I don't expect them to go 300k trouble free like my Toyota yaris I commuted in for years that still had the original clutch when it got totaled, but with just 100hp and no soul it was easier on parts I'd say.

Jeep seems unable, or unwilling, to comprehend that the more they jack up prices, the higher the expectations they set for the brand.

When FCA set Jeep out to attract a more affluent type of buyer, it failed to account for the fact that more affluent buyers have more choices and higher expectations.

Bubbling paint, dead batteries or wobbly steering might not be an issue for traditional Jeep owners, but they are to those affluent customers they set out to attract.

Plus Jeep's incompetent dealers can make any minor issue turn into an unfolding nightmare.

It's much more likely Jeep's aware people will still keep purchasing regardless of heftier expectations.

OP having more choices and expectations doesn't matter in this context. The Jeep is already purchased, fully under warranty and apparently didn't have the bubbling issue. OP acknowledged truly enjoying enjoying the Jeep.

There was nothing to be frustrated over.

First time Jeep buyer, truely enjoyed the topless and doorless life for just over a year, but have no confidence in Stellantis and decided to divorce myself from them.

Once I learned of Corrosiongate I knew I wasn't going to keep the Jeep beyond the new warranty period. What accelerated my decision was the tanking trade-in values. They are shockingly low (45% on a 2023), so I cut my losses after I found one buyer who wanted exactly my build and paid a little more.

I can see myself buying a cheap 2-door manual beater in the future, though it may not be a JL if they are corroded to dust by then. This was my first and likely last new Stellantis purchase.

Wishing you all many trouble-free miles ahead. ?

You're not alone. I bailed on the corrosion thing before having to deal with it. Too many horror stories of dealing with crappy dealers not wanting to really help and/or make it super difficult. But I do miss my JL. Doubt it will be addressed before the 2028 redesign. Although I'm still interested in the 2025 changes (the UAW strike agreement documents showed "big 4xe update")... So we'll see.

This seems to be a common theme, people leaving for fear of possible or "potential" problems, not because they aren't covered or aren't still under warranty, and maybe they even haven't experienced said problems themselves.

And they say don't believe everything you read on the internet....and some folks take it all, hook, line, and sinker...

Risk of what?

And when did you buy a Bronco? (Did you drink the water, too?)
And yet, they still lurk around. Like the weirdo ex-gf who didn’t know she was dating two grades up, but dumped you anyway.
