I wish Jeep Canada would be as helpful as your Jeep U.S. Please let me know how you get on. These windows need to be recalled!!
I love the new roof concept but the windows are dangerous.
You’re basing “the windows are dangerous” on half a dozen forum members who have lost a window? Of those, how many were actual defects vs. user error while installing? NHTSA has no complaints about windows that I can find. https://www.nhtsa.gov/

Don’t get me wrong, if I lose a window I’ll be pissed. I have no hard top as backup and my Jeep is my DD. That said, I don’t agree that there is a widespread issue, here, or a danger to the public. Shit, if we’re that concerned for public safety we better ban cell phones and touch screen infotainment systems ASAP.

I don’t think you understand how scary and dangerous it was to hear a loud pop when driving on the highway. When I looked in my review mirror cars traveling at 110km/h breaking and swerving to avoid the window. What if there was a motorcyclist behind me? What if my kids or dog were in the Jeep? What about cyclist on the side of the roads?
This is not my first Jeep! The windows will stretch. There are no zippers or extra Velcro reinforcement. The new design is great but there is a problem with the windows! I won’t be surprised if there is a recall. I don’t want to be the one who causes and accident or evens fatal accident.

We have a 2018 Rubicon JL with the soft top. Yesterday we were on the highway and the back, driver side soft top panel flew off at 65 MPH. All our windows were up and the top was up, completely sealed from the inside. There is definitely a design flaw with this soft top. No zippers or snaps, just a cheesy plastic tab. We were lucky it didn't damage the car it hit behind us too badly and everyone was ok. Could not retrieve the panel portion due to the busy traffic. This has to be a known/Jeep issue from what I see in this thread. I reported to Jeep last night when I got home. They are looking into it.
Good for you! Keep me posted.

18s have Velcro retainer swatch for the side windows, at least on the premium model. Pretty sure the 19 softtops are exactly the same as the 18.
The 18 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited premium soft top has only a small piece of velcro.
This is my third Jeep. The concept is great but unfortunate not secure enough. On previous Jeeps there were zipper and velcro that would seal all 3 sides of the window.

Out of paranoia from this thread, I’m going to pick up some industrial Velcro @ Home Cheapo and add it to the top back end of the side windows. These windows run $159 a piece on Qtec.

Ok so I just installed the premium top on my 18 JL. So from what I'm reading, there's a quarter window issue of possibly blowing out? Did anyone add extra velcro to help secure them? Also what does everyone do with their windows when they put the top all the way down. Only way I see the back window fitting is to put down a seat. Any suggestions?
Thanks

MOPAR bag and store behind back seat. You don’t have to put the seat down. See here: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/mopar-soft-top-window-storage-bag-review.13235/

Will do, my jeep dealer is going to look at it next week and consult with Jeep. In the meantime I need to figure out how to secure the other window panel, probably with some homemade velcro.

I had this exact issue happen today. I was going down the interstate and had the windows down a quarter of the way with top up and windows in. I noticed in my mirror that the front part of the window popped out and was catching wind like a parachute and as soon as I was pulling over to the side it ripped out and took flight. It was ran over and shattered the corner and scratched up the window. I was able to retrieve it after playing frogger on the interstate. This sucks on labor day weekend. Hoping no rain comes my way.
Did you report this to Jeep? Happened to mine as well this past week. It would be good to let them know if you didn't already. Thx

I had mine blow out back in early July shortly after I bought the jeep. Luckily I have the dual top, so put the hard top on. The dealer warrantied the window, but it took about a month since the part was on back order. Jeepcares was super helpful opening a case and keeping me up to date on the progress. Once the replacement arrived, I reinstalled my softtop hoping my troubles were behind me.

The other day I was driving on a pretty windy day and the same window started buffeting loudly. All windows were up, and sunrider was closed. I was doing 70-75 on a 75mph road. I immediately pulled over and checked the window. It was still snuggly in place. But now I am nervous. In general that side of the car seems looser (easier to latch the roof, easier to slide in the window, more window vibration at speed). I probably need to have the dealer inspect it to make sure the top is good. In the mean time I have taken to driving in safari mode a lot.

I tried industrial Velcro but didn’t work so I’m seeking alternatives. I may grab some wire and secure that bottom corner clip to it’s mount.

Didn't work how? Industrial strength "should" stick to the fabric. Are you saying it wouldn't stick or the supposed 15lb weight limit velcro didn't hold the upper part without pulling loose?

The Velcro would barely stick to the top even for a 80 degree day and there is a significant gap between the window and top which would pull. If it were sewn to the fabric that would be more effective. I might give it another try.
