Same thing happened to me! Windows all up, soft top secure (i'm a freak about making sure everything is tight) 65 mph on the highway, suddenly the back passenger window made a VERY loud noise and the panel blew off onto the highway. Thank GOD no one was right behind me and had an accident, although several cars were swerving to avoid it. This could have been a lot worse. Obviously this is a problem. My dealership offered to replace the panel which is a total joke. I can never feel confident driving on the highway again. Not sure what to do.
Thatā€™s exactly how I feel about driving with my soft top. I feel like Iā€™m driving a loaded gun and playing Russian roulette. I could never live with myself knowing that I hurt someone and knew there was a problem.
Please makes sure to contact Jeep directly and make lots of noise about this serious issue.

@JeepCares I can't speak for Hellspawn, but I'm more interested in Jeep responding to this issue with a fix. It's not isolated to a few dummies who don't know how to install the windows. This is a design flaw. Jeep should work with the window manufacturer to make these panels more readily available since everyone runs into a backorder delay when they have this problem.

@JeepCares This is a serious problem that Jeep need to fix or recall before someone is killed or injured! I feel like Iā€™m driving a loaded gun and playing Russian roulette. I could never live with myself knowing that I hurt someone and knew there was a problem.

Hi Michelle,
We do apologize, but we are not authorized to work with customers outside of the United States. We recommend contacting Canadian Customer Care to have this documented. I have included a link below with their contact information.

My 2018 JLU rubicon just had this issue.
My passenger side window blew out after passing a semi. He in turn ran it over as did multiple vehicles before I could retrieve it.
I took to my local Jeep dealer and they denied my claim.

Can u help please.

Btw in August I had taken my Jeep into my dealer as I had the window come loose on multiple occasions and saved it. They said ā€œnothing we can do about it and couldnā€™t duplicate the complaint.

Now Iā€™m stuck windowless ā€ā™‚ā€ā™‚

Thanks again

@AndysJL thanks. Believe it or not, I didn't know this was a thing so thanks for making it easy!
Yes, I took Schism75's "fix" by drilling a hole and installing to hitch pins. I don't see FCA addressing this issue soon, if at all, plus I don't want to be without a panel for weeks while fighting to get a new one. Else it's $360 for my twill tan panel.

I have the same issue with the passenger side quarter panel popping out. From my analysis, the fitment is way too tight so the plastic tube doesn't sits quite securely where the rail ends. It bulges out slightly like a loose corner of a ziploc bag. So at high speed, the air pressure pops it out of the rail and the top portion will just peal completely off the rail. I really think it is a poor design choice to use soft plastic altogether since they loose integrity quickly over time, not to mention ending the support rail where the air pressure is probably the highest. It would help if there is another rail section toward the end for the tube to grab onto.

Here is my fix for the issue if it could help someone out. It has held the window in place for over 300 miles of highway speed, with both front windows rolled down. It may be a permanent solution for me until I can conjure up something nicer.

1) Buy a 54 cents 1/2" copper coupling.

2) Saw down the length to turn it into a "C" clamp of sort
3) Slip it onto the plastic track flange on the window panel
4) Install the window
5) slide the coupling up to the lolly pop awning rail

On Sunday lost my passenger soft window in the last 10 minutes of a 4 hour drive all windows and doors shut as it was raining. I have about 20000 miles with no top problems till now. Retrieved the window but damaged by road impact and probably run over. Had not had the windows off for several weeks and itā€™s my daily driver so not sure why or how they came off. Ordered replacement window from web site but sent JK top windows. Now working with them to get a replacement. So safari till this gets resolved as I donā€™t have a hard top.

So still without a rear window. Attempted to order part through MOPAR.com. Sent wrong part which I returned since they couldnā€™t find the part on their system. Now have a warranty claim through my dealership for over 2 weeks. Dealership tells me it may or may not be covered which is why they have no answer yet. Anyone have any advice. December is not the time of year to drive around with no windows

Same thing happened to me over the summer and it was covered under warranty - as long as you have the broken window to exchange...
