It’s been a while since I posted. My family and I will be taking the Rubicon to the Rubicon in October :). I currently have the OEM rock sliders on my Jeep. I am going to splurge and get a new set that will make it easy for my wife to get in and out of the Jeep.

I was looking into the Rock Slide Engineering Step Sliders. It looks like it installs onto the existing OEM mounts on the body. Does anyone have experience with these and will the motorized step survive being bashed?

I have zero experience with RSE sliders, but the custom shop that will build my AEV 2 door Rubicon X, minus the snorkel, highly recommend it. It’s never over until it’s over, but I approved it. Build is SCHEDULED to start Sept 19 and take 2-3 days. If you can wait, ask me later

Hi, as @Terrymo mentioned, I do have experience with the RSE Step Sliders. We run them on our own Jeep and have put them to test many times on the trail. They are frame mounted and provided you run the armor with them (recommended) they can take a beating. I have several videos on my YouTube channel that will allow you to see the install process as well as rock crawling with them. Attached is the link for my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5HJ5REOo6XbFuakJem6TTw

You can see them in action on the Playlist - Equipment Reviews. Within this playlist, you will find several review videos on the Step Sliders. Lastly, if you decide these are right for you, use this code for 10% off: expeditionbuilds10

Hit me up with any questions and thoughts you may have. Glad to help✌🏻

I have them on my 2021 JLURD with the extra armor for the gen 2. Works great as a slider and a step for the short wife. No drilling to mount he step sliders unless you get the optional aluminum body pieces.

The RSE sliders hold up fairly well, but I trashed my passenger side step by sliding off a boulder into a boulder on Poughkeepsie. Unfortunately that was on our way to the Rubicon.

Hopefully you also have full skids and preferably 35s+ for the Rubicon.

Check out Rock Hard 4x4…..very well made and fairly easy to install. They definitely take a beating.

Any pictures of this?
I don’t have any photos, but if I get some time over the weekend I’ll pop mine off and snap some photos

Is your goal to have a step to make entry and exit easier? Or are you also planning for scenarios where those sliders take a beating from a rock/boulder? The recommendations will likely vary based on how your Jeep will be used.

I'm asking as I just went through this search for my new 2024. If it's only entry/exit you're looking for then I'd recommend the Barricade Enhanced Rubi Rails. My 2020 had the Mopar Performance Rock Rails and I loved them but I did not want to spend that much to replicate on my 2024. The Barricade bolt to the same body points as the factory Rubicon rails and I was able to easily install on my own. A bonus for me was the tube style is almost exactly the same as those on my 2014 Rubicon X so it's a nice little throwback for me personally.

Big fan of my RockHard 4x4 Patriot sliders - have taken many hits on the east coast rocks and used them to turn against things a few times, too.
