I've wrestled with this dilemma for a while. I still haven't found one quiet enough for my tastes. I could probably live with the Magnaflow 19620. But I'm not liking it $800 worth. https://www.magnaflow.com/products/...d-series-axle-back-performance-exhaust-system

So, I resigned to just keeping the stock muffler. I've been on the Rubicon twice and some Moab trails, such as Poison Spider, Golden Spike, etc. I've never hit the muffler itself, but I've squashed the end of the tailpipe a few times. I've opened it back up with a big steel pry bar. If I cut it about 4" shorter, it would probably be fine. The rear bumper takes all the hits on dropoffs. I ended up picking up a complete OEM exhaust system from a forum member for $100. I still haven't needed to use it. Maybe the solution for us that like quiet exhausts is just put a good skid plate on the OEM muffler?

I installed the Borla touring climber system and while it's not factory-quiet, it's perfectly serviceable for someone not completely turned off by the clamorous sounds of the 2.0.

I wanted something with even more clearance than a 'high tuck' style muffler since I landed on the factory muffler and tail pipe many times - enough that the over axle pipe was crimped a bit. There was enough restriction that I ended up gaining about 1mpg and holding at least 1 gear higher on the highway after the Borla install; a pleasant surprise by YMMV.

Edit: this system won't work on a 4xe. I think AFE and Injen make something that'll work.

I installed the AFE hi-tuck muffler on mine (not the muffler delete pipe). It's definitely louder than stock (more so with the windows down and/or top down). It actually sounds OK running around town and I don't notice it on the highway. I do like that the muffler is now completely up and out of the way. It's expensive though and I really wanted the Blackheart but those are discontinued now so settled for the AFE.

The Borla is reasonably quiet and doesn't make the 2.0T sound like a dumb ricer from 2002.

Yup, I would love a Borla Touring for my JLR-X 2.0 but they only offer the Touring for the 4-door JL's. For the 2-door 2.0 Borla only offers the Type-S in the climber (high clearance) and that would be way louder than I want...

I have the Borla Touring Climber on my '20 JLR but it has the 3.6, lame they don't offer it for the 2.0 2-door.

That's pretty quiet. Disregard the excessive steam from the blown head gasket.

would love to hear that on a 2.0, i went from an axle back hi tuck straight pipe (https://amzn.to/3NzCWqg)

but that was too loud so I added a glass pack(https://amzn.to/3NvGB8r)

before the axleback and it was still too loud, so I removed the hi tuck straight pipe and installed a dual exit muffler that's was fairly big (https://amzn.to/3UhYJXf)

but even this got old as i got older so now i'm looking to go back to factory muffler or that hooker hi tuck one which sounds almost like the quiet factory suitcase

Based on how quiet my S-Type is, I'm not sure the Touring would actually be any louder than stock.

Why not just put a skid plate on the muffer?

Make It Fit...
I really want a quite high tuck exhaust and also getting tired of everything I put in the floor cubby being baked like I put it in the oven...

One of my upcoming projects will be to modify a 4-door 2.0 Borla Touring to fit my 2-door 2.0 JLR-X. I know the size of the Touring muffler will fit as I have same size Touring muffler on my '20 3.6 JLR. I would just modify the 3.6 Touring Climber to fit the 2.0 but the 3.6 exhaust is 2.5" and the 2.0 is 2.75". So I am thinking use the tail pipe from the 2-door 2.0 S-Type and the Touring muffler from the 2.0 4-door. There will be some trimming of the 2.75" pipe coming out (it's extra long because of the 4-door's longer wheelbase) of the muffler and I will have to mock-up a custom shape coupler and then have a local shop that does mandrel bending fabricate a 2.75" stainless coupler to tie to the factory exhaust...See no reason this won't work!
Will keep everyone updated on progress!
