Not that I saw, I actually spread the pipe to fit it over the rivet first, but it eventually slipped back off of it.
That sucks. Thought the notch I saw in the stock photos was for the index, but looking closer at the similar AFE high-tuck muffler, the notch should be larger and on the inward side. Was pretty much dead-set on buying the Injen to get the 304 stainless, but fuck if I'm spending $700 for something I'll immediately have to start cutting up. Guess I'll just get the AFE w/409SS when it's on-sale for $400 again.

@kah.mun.rah Do you remember how yours was when you got it??

Anyone have either installed with the MC 3/4" sway bar spacer? Not only do we hate the sound of the MBRP delete, we've got contact with the sway bar.

Yeah, it looks like that's just a bit of a clearancing affordance cut to make sure it will fit. The cutting wasn't bad though, bit of time with the dremel wheel - and that's on the OE mid pipe, I haven't had to mod the Injen at all. I've loved it for the most part, but I want to sort out the burble for sure as that's not a sound that gives me many warm fuzzies.

Everything slid on pretty easily without any extra cutting. Mine looks like this though so I am not sure if they have the same connection design:

Think you're right. Not sure about the burble, but when I swapped out my muffler on my last vehicle (Evo X) to a more free-flowing one, I got a lot of burble and even some pops, especially on deceleration. Afaik, it was just allowing me to hear things that I couldn't before (unspent fuel combusting in the cat). I really like hearing that kind of stuff though.

Iirc, I thought Robbie Ferreiri mentioned his having a burble somewhere in one of his vids and he had a the 3.6L (would think the 2.0T would have a bit more). Looking at his install video, there definitely isn't a notch cut out on the Injen. Kinda hard to tell, but it looks like it's only over the midpipe and butted up against the indexing rivet, but not over it.

Ironic, his install was what turned me onto Injen's stuff in the first place. I'm not opposed to the burble, and if that's a common sound I'm down. It was just giving me flashbacks to when the cat on my first S10 rotted out, and when my second had phantom misfire codes the whole time I owned it. Glad to be out of those tbh.

Not 100% sure, but always thought the sound of a cat going bad would be the sound of BBs in a can (loose metal pieces of the core in the cat) and maybe added pops and backfire from the unspent gas getting combusted further toward the tailpipe. While burble is more of a sound due to the change in turbulence from the airflow (iirc, the signature Subaru burble is due to an unequal header length) and light pops/crackle from hearing the unspent fuel combust in the cat.

I could be totally wrong, though ?

Here's a short clip - didn't want to punch it in the work parking lot lol. The burbling sounds a lot quieter than it does to my ear.

Hmm, yeah.. that doesn't really sound like the type of burble I was thinking of. Might just be the audio, but it does kinda sound like there's something else going on, at least compared to the sound of @ExpeditionBuilds ' 2.0T with the similar AFE high-tuck muffler installed.

His sounds almost identical to yours, up until that noise kicks in at your 5-second mark and then it has some additional flutter or something weird. Did you (safely) check for any exhaust leaks coming from the connection to the OEM midpipe? Doesn't really sound like a mechanical rattle or anything you'd get from loose heatshields, clamps or other resonances/vibrations.. at least externally on the Jeep, not sure about internally on the exhaust pieces.

I think pulling the Injen exhaust over the notch is a pretty dumb idea (how exactly are you expecting an equally distributed clamping force if you are doing that??? Of course it will be loose). Just rest it against, and tighten. The indexing notch is just that, so the factory monkeys don't bolt down a misaligned exhaust.

Yeah it's weird. No leaks at the midpipe that I could detect, I checked it out with a coworker yesterday and he confirmed the sound is coming out the exhaust. I might drop them a line to see if they have any clue, or swing by a muffler shop or my usual mechanic to have them give it a look.

Here's another sample after I replaced the TurboSmart BOV with the OE plumbback and took a spirited drive around town. Also a shot of the BOV - doesn't appear damaged in any way, still nice and greasy from install a little over a year ago. Next step will probably be checking spark plugs, but I think the Injen exhaust, while being the primary indicator, can likely be ruled out as the cause.

That clip sounds really good imo. Just a nice amount of light crackle from hearing the unspent fuel ignite.

No idea about the BOV. I know some turbo vehicles react badly when changing out the factory BOV, depending upon the amount of vent to atmosphere vs re-circulation, but honestly no idea what works or doesn't for the Jeep's 2.0T engine.

In case anyone is looking for a discount on an Injen high tuck exhaust…not cheap, but still aound $100 off. I’m still debating.
