Maybe somebody else can answer this, but when the paint gets dinged on those flares, does black plastic show through? I've always had black unpainted flares. Your rear ones WILL get chewed up, so i would want to know how bad it looks before dropping extra $ on them.
I planned on putting on ppf over the paint.

It may be worth looking nationally for a leftover '24 that fits the description. No doubt you'll also get a decent deal on a new one if you do your homework, but Jeep dealers are desperate. To still have handfuls of Rubicons sitting around from last year...they are motivated to make them go away!

Also, with the current uncertainty around tariffs and looming dates, I personally wouldn't want to be on the hook for a vehicle order. At the very least, get a guarantee on the price..
Sold orders are priced protected from increases. At least that’s how it was on my ram.

Be sure to read the threads about the JL manual transmission before checking that box. ;)
I test drove an unlimited 6 cylinder with auto and liked it. I was about convinced of that until they told me in 2 door you cannot get a 6 cylinder with automatic 😡

It would also suck to get a bad sensor error message in a few years for a font locker that isn't even used.
Is that an issue with the front locker? I've only heard about (and experienced) it with the rear.

Thanks I want a manual transmission. I’m still leaning towards the X. I’m not opposed to 35s just overkill for my use.

That picture is one super cool ride.
I just ordered a JLRU-X 6SP. Knowing the clutch will be replaced within 3-5 years. Put a centerforce 2 in last JL and it was SOOOOOO much better in holding and performance than the stock POS dual mass flywheel/clutch. I do like my millenial anti theft device.

I had a front locker actuator coil go out after a few years. Since you can't buy that part for a JL, I was forced to innovate and use a Bronco locker actuator coil. It works.

Go for the SOT top it's 70% of my enjoyment and I would also recommend the safety group and
the 4 auto.

oh man I’ll search on those today. Are they junk? Being able to get a manual is a huge selling factor. Only Jeep is really left. It’s that or a mustang or bronco 4 banger. Both of those other two options are 🤮
I come from a manual trans background, having had many cars with a manual. I bought the 8 sp auto on a recommendation by a jeep shop owner/friend. I couldn't be happier with an auto. These aren't your father's auto trans. They are truly a game changer.

That said, if you are absolutely set on a manual, get what makes you smile.

Tried the configurator for a 2 door XR on the Jeep.com site and it required a manual with a 3.6L when 4.56 was selected. But, when I selected 4.88, it let me select 3.6L and auto trans.

The rear might be more prone and there might be improvements to both the front and the rear in the recent years, but just the fact of having a sensor anywhere adds one more thing to the list of things that could fail during the life of the vehicle.

My neighbor has a Wills and is spending a small fortune to get it to be like my 2024 Rubicon X. What came on my Rubicon X is under warranty through the Jeep.... his "ad-ons" are not.
My guess is that your friend has an older Willys which was just a glorified Sport. Today's Willys are very close to what the Rubicon has, especially if you get the Willys with the Xtreme package.

Jeep Wrangler JL Ordering a 25 this week looking for advice 1000009660

If the most action it's going to see is the mall and a dirt/gravel road or two every few weeks, just do yourself a favor and get a 4runner. If you want something a little more fun that you can beat up and take off road, get you with TJ!

There's a 50% chance you will hate your JL as it sits in the dealership lot waiting to get fixed for 6 months out of the year for the first 3 years before you trade it in under the lemon law in your state.

After you get your 4Runner or your TJ, wait a little bit, a few years, and if the brand rebounds, then get you like a 2028 or something!

You'll be doing yourself a favor! Don't buy a JL right now!

As one of the lucky individuals who is on the zero problems side of the 50%, I'm not dumb enough to buy another JL anytime soon! Disgruntled Union employees, disgruntled dealerships, a new CEO that's promising change but hasn't achieved it yet, you're looking for problems!

You don't got to like it, but it's the truth!
