It’s hard to tell from a picture, but to me the big hole version looks broken. The concentric circles aren’t constant and disappear.
That's what I thought and my first post was just "that thing is broken" but I want to go in to the shop tomorrow and check before making a statement I can't back up.

Regardless of FCA's attempted "fix" of the PCV, I'm going to install a Teraflex crankcase vent system. It is exactly the fix I was thinking of before I read this thread and found the post below. That will keep the steep inclines from being a problem with oil ingestion.

This is my RHD setup with the Teraflex kit. The circled part is the check valve. I do want to put a catch can inline to help with normal driving conditions unless the new PCV helps in those conditions.

that's how I found it when I pulled it from the passenger-side rocker cover.

It is just so damn ugly.

Teraflex system works good, but is crusty for sure. A new set of nice PCV lines would be good. Also Im still waiting like 6 months plus for a fix for the XR Rubicon which is not 100% compatible but does work. Teraflex customer service is pretty slow and indifferent, in this instance anyway.

I hate all those plastic hard lines, but maybe I'll bend up some aluminum tubes

No. its not broke
I just replaced mine today
On the left old one
On the right new updated one
I also emptied my oil catch can
I will check in a 1000 miles and see if it collects less oil

Which part number? There is nothing new about the -AC version, it has been around a while.

The new part no. on the box
68609110AA
So, this is interesting. The new PCV I installed had the same part number as the original, 68210345AC, with the new having a smaller inlet. The inlet of the old one is not damaged, it's just larger. And, I just looked up the part number on the MOPAR page, and the part number for my vehicle remains at 68210345AC. I am still baffled that MOPAR would continue with the same part number when the part has been changed...

Yes
I was skeptical when I ordered it
I don't know if it will really make a difference
I also emptied my oil catch can at the same time and saved the oil
In a 1000 miles I will empty it a gain and see if it made any deference

What are the odds that closing the opening approximately 50% will lower oil consumption by the same amount? That is the absolute largest I have seen on a PCV valve. Had some V8s that only had two small holes the size of toothpicks lol.

I believe the next thing I do to my Jeep will be add a catch can also. I think I have around 5K on my oil ATM and its down 1/4-1/2 a qt. I know its within specs but dont think I want all that in my engine. No vehicle I have owned ate as much oil. I currently have about 23k on the clock.
