YES .... My aftermarket b/u lights are wired so they come on with the stock backup lights or when I hit Aux 3. I tapped into the reverse wire on the tow package, 7 pin connector. I also ran a wire up to Aux 3 in the engine bay. This set-up necessitates the use of 2 diodes.
Yes please show me how you did this so as not to send 24 volts.... Parallel?

P.S. still enjoying my Tazer... thinking of putting in front camera as well. Thanks for stretching me....

I added Rigid Ignite back up lights ($129) and am really pleased with them. Install was very easy. I have them wired so they go on with the stock b/u lights or If I press Aux 3. With them, there is so much light at night when I back up, you'd think it was daytime.

Do you have any detailed instructions and pictures on how you did this? Seems to be a good solution until they get the reflector light figured out.

If your JL isn't fitted with a hitch reciever the ZROADZ Rear Bumper LED kit looks like it would be perfect. I have been on the forum hoping to see this installed on someones JL with no avail. Looks like I will have to be the guinea pig.

Man, I'm totally doing this and setting them to one of my Aux switches. That way I can hit that switch next time some tailgates me at night!

What all would be needed to install those rigid lights for an aux switch?

I second the Rigid Ignites. They make it very easy to see backing up at night. I also wired them to the reverse lights and to Aux 3. The wiring was easy (aside from the teeny tiny Ignite wires) and relatively quick.

Hi there - do you have some instructions on how to wire it the way you've done? Thanks!

I saw someone considering installing a light in the spare tire. I found a light on Amazon and it has both red and white lights. So I wired the brake light to the red light and the standard light to a switch up front. I am really happy with the results. It is nice up and out of the way, well hidden and I do not have to worry about it getting torn up on the trail.

This picture is the standard lights when brakes are not on and the Jeep was in reverse.

This one is when the brake pedal is depressed.

It looks like you have the plastic bumper on the rear as I do... I like this mod... and will mirror your approach. thanks for posting
