Is the light output in regard to the LED backup lights sufficient enough?

Read on another forum a guy saying LED backup light output was poor.

I’m hoping to do something similar to what I did on my JK with a set of Baja Designs Squadron Sports in flood pattern.

Depending on your needs. If you want to have the "super bright" at the rear region, you may select high power LED truck light bar. For instance, I see some of the truck owners prefer a long (50") LED light bar having 100 watt. They are not very difficult to install.

A rear 50" is a bit overkill in almost any situation since there really isn't a "need" for that much rear facing light output. Really how often is someong going to be driving at 40-50mph or more in reverse? Usually that's the "Bruh, check out all my light bars, ain't it cool yo!" crowd. Of course this also doesn't take into account the lack of mounting area to install a rear 50" on a Jeep unless you're have a roof rack installed.

I was pretty disappointed with my wife’s JLUS LED reverse lights, and have no idea why I expected anything better when I got my Rubicon... just wishful thinking I guess

If I could find something to fit in the reflector spots, I’d buy 2 pairs today.

This caught my attention:
https://www.4wheelparts.com/Lightin...tl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_pDetail_productSpecs

But $300 for an off-center light on a tag bracket isn’t too exciting... and, 2 of them - no way!

Has anyone come across something like this more reasonably priced?

Or, a better solution?

How do you tie into the existing LED reverse lights? I can't find any wiring anywhere

I believe the trailer plug (if you have the tow package) will carry a reverse light signal. I’m planning on splicing to an old trailer harness and using that - if I’m right.
Or, find the wire in the harness and splice directly into it. I’d rather not do that.

That's fine and all, but where do you tie in the wiring, so they come on when you shift into reverse?

On my JK the wiring was behind the tail lights. Have you removed the rear lights? There has to be a harness in there we can get a reserve source from.
