I purchased this used Smittybilt SRC rear bumper. It has the two LED lights that it comes with. I would like to hook these 2 lights to the reverse light circuit. I do not have factory LEDs.

Do I simply tap in to the reverse light wires, or do i need to add a diode or resistor in line after the tap in point for them to work with the incandescent system.

Should be able to tie into the reverse light circuit. I can't imagine those LEDs being super high current.

If you have the tow package and the 7-pin receptacle, it gives you a convenient (and closer) place to tap into (white/orange wire). Also: never T-taps, always solder.

Personally, I'd attach a relay to the factory wiring, and run your accessory reverse lights from a fused battery wire. I've seen reports that powering the lights directly from the factory wiring can throw codes and/or dash lights because of the change in resistance.

Incidentally, Oracle Lighting offers a non-destructive piggy-back harness to tap into the reverse lights at a taillight:

The factory wiring is supplied by a 20A circuit via relay, but there's no harm in adding another relay-switched supply source. I did just that on my reverse cube lights, but also added a diode so I can control them via an AUX button separately.
