Check your engine oil level. If O.K., then have it towed into your Dealer. If you drive it, you may be spending $12K for a new engine.

Sorry a question. is this something that happens or should I take in for service ?
I've been having this issue myself for about 2 years now. Since about 20,000 miles. If you head on over to the RAM forums, it's actually a fairly common problem. The number one issue is the oil pressure sensor on the oil cooler is shit. Just some of them fail super early. I was reading about a guy on the RAM forums, with a 1500 EcoDiesel, his failed at 16,000 mi, basically a brand new 1500 with a bad oil pressure sensor at 16,000 mi. :swear: :headbang:

So there's actually a few possible options here. At least the more common options, that is.

Number one is the bad oil pressure sensor. Heads up, these sensors are not accurate. One of the videos below will show you just how inaccurate they are.

The next major possibility for you is going to be the oil pickup tube from the oil pan is clogged, and when you start the vehicle or when you're driving around, not enough oil is getting into the engine and when you shut the engine off, it's going to take even longer for oil to get back into the oil pan.

I found this video very helpful. You can skip ahead it's quite a bit long-winded.

Depending on your drain plug location on whichever engine you have, you potentially can see the pickup tube from your drain plug, and during your next oil change it's really easy to just grab a can of brake cleaner, and just hose it down. Obviously let it all drain out, and dry up before you replace the drain plug and refill the engine with clean oil.

If it's not one of these reasons, it's probably going to be something significantly more expensive, at which point a dealership visit is a good option for you.

Ann, If you checked the oil by removing the dipstick and it has no indication, do not start it or drive it. Call the dealer and explain the situation.

Your warranty is not going to cover shit if you knowingly drive your Jeep with no oil in it. The dealer needs to come with a tow truck at their expense or if you have AAA call they and have them do it. It’s an almost certainty that the actions of the dealer caused this problem. Call your insurance company as well. Good luck

Oil changed 4 weeks ago and low oil pressure light and check engine light are on
If it has very low oil pressure if it’s making new noises. Should not drive it. Check your oil level
