So I’ve had my jlus for almost a year and I have been known to go down rabbit holes, So here we go… While driving today @ 40-50 mph, 1800-1900 rpm, ( manual tranny 3.6 engine ), I went to the oil pressure screen on my dash and it was reading 29-32 psi. All the sudden it jumped up to 62 psi for 2-3 seconds, then back down to normal. It did this several times on a 5 mile drive. WTF, I wouldn’t think this is normal, old TJ never done it, past Silverado’s never done it. Any thoughts or knowledge on this? Sorry in advance if this has been covered in a previous thread.

Normal...the 3.6L has a two stage oil pump that can go up to nearly 80PSI.

The second stage typically kicks in above 3K RPMs.

Thanks CS, after reading your comment I googled it. In the past I’ve owned dirt track cars, Harley’s, HD Pickups, etc. Had never heard of this, probably would have called BS, but “hats off to you sir “. Been doing research ever since your reply. Damnit, another rabbit hole ?
