When I did all my shopping and research 99% of retailers had partial kits in stock with no guarantee when parts will be available. TeraFlex stepped up and shipped the basic 2.5" kit directly to my house, so far the kit has been perfect with zero issues. I off-road a lot but nothing extreme just basic rock trails and hi-speed washed out washboard roads. Most kits will work just fine until you decide to hit the serious trails, at that point drop your jeep off and have a shop do all the cutting/welding engineering so your rig can handle that kind of torture. Also look at shocks, they will make or break your ride comfort, adjustable will allow you to fine tune how you'r jeep handles on and off the trail.

Surely you can’t be serious?
People recommend spacer lifts and "full" suspension lifts from companies like Rough Country and Mopar all the time. Whether they offer a quality on and off road ride is a whole different matter lol. The dealership I went to pushed Mopar lifts heavily on any Wrangler that came in, I'm certainly not playing that game but I'm sure a few people bit.

I mean, I get spacer lifts if you’re just trying to fit bigger tires and never go off road or if it’s just temporary while you build funds. The Mopar lift is trash for what it costs and what you need to actually finish it off correctly.

let me guess, you are one of those blowhard weekend mechanics that know more about engineering than those that designed the Jeep you own :CWL:
You mean the engineers that let the rubicon out the door with woefully low caster? The engineers that designed a lift that requires hundreds of dollars in additional parts to properly adjust the suspension? I guarantee I’ve been working on/modifying vehicles longer than most of them. I’m glad you’re happy with your lift. For the money there are much better options available.

I guess you missed my previous post. I’m on a spacer lift and yes it is Rough Country. Has suited me fine for 35k miles. I’ll do any blue rated trail you want to throw my way and I have badges to prove it. Mine is also a daily driver so I have no urge to beat it up on red and black trails. So you are abundantly wrong that a spacer lift will not work off-road.

Did I say it wouldn’t work? The problem with a spacer lift is that you still need to address caster, track bars, disconnects and new shocks or extensions. By the time you add all the additional pieces you could have gotten into a decent lift. If your shocks are longer you have to worry about the coils unseating. Sure it will work, but to do it right you’re going to end up spending just as much or more when you could just buy a lift that comes with better springs.

I completely disagree. Have you driven a JL with the caster set at 6.5? These things come with too low of caster from the factory. Add a 2.5” lift and they get really flighty. The factory track bars are barely adequate for a stock vehicle. Add a lift and tires and they’ll be shot in no time, especially off road. Look man, I’m glad you’re happy with your choice, it’s not what most of us that wheel regularly would recommend.
