Fixing stupid....
Coil Spacers and shock spacers would work fine for your needs.

if you want a spring lift you could also check out the rancho sport kit with the rs9000xl shocks and add their geometry correction brackets. I ran it for 2 years on my sahara and it was great.

Thank you all for the replies. I posted this to learn, knowing that there is more than one way to this. I don't feel anybody on here is wrong. It all depends on what you want, can afford and what your going to be doing with your Jeep.

What I have found for myself in my older years is that I really dislike doing things more than once. Of course we all make mistakes, try and learn form them and move on. But, I am looking for me, at will will work for the kind of off-roading I do as well as what I may do in the future and some durability as well.

Still looking at things and hoping that in the not too far future I will be able to get what I want. Of course there is actually a lot of stuff I would like to have for the Wrangler but I have to just do it as I can. Of course life always has a way of creeping in. I just bought 2 new toilets' for the house yesterday and spent almost $400. As I was paying for them I was thinking about all the stuff I could do to the jeep.

Thanks!

You’re going about this the right way, research, research, research…..I just want to clear up a misconception on here about the RK lifts, they ride as good as any lift on the highway. They’ve redone the bushings, and now use a maintenance free bushing on the frame side…….. this is not fanboy hype, it’s actual ass in seat experience……

I’m not on here to push any lift on you, just offering my assistance with whatever questions you might have……… I would recommend a suspension lift over spacers, not that I think they’re bad, but from what you’re describing as your intended use, this is my recommendation……….

Good luck with your build, and holler if you need anything………✌

Thanks Roky. We have spoke before and I see your posts. I know you always just try to help and offer suggestions. I also know you have as you say a lot ass in the seat experience and I respect that.

I also feel this has been a good discussion post and a lot of people have chimed in with good suggestions and that's awesome on an open forum like this. It speaks volumes about jeep people and I am happy to be a part of this crowd.

Thanks again for all the advice and suggestions. ?

Hey all, thanks again for all the good suggestions. The wife and I sat last night and talked. Due to our circumstances and the circumstances of the fricken world right now, prices for everything, we decided to hold of on the lift for the time being.

A lift right now is a want, not a need. We can still go out and enjoy the Jeep without having it lifted right now. ?

One good thing is that the wife is onboard and she wants the Jeep lifted, so there is that. I will keep researching and checking prices and it will happen down the road.

I will update when I eventually get a lift.

Thanks again!

Still on hold but just posting an update. I have lowered my price and expectations a little, because for probably the next 4 to 5 years the majority of off-roading we are going to be doing will be dirt roads and some easy and intermediate trails at some off road parks and I feel that either of these kits will work just fine to start with.

I chatted with the Rep. at ET to get another opinion and he said go with the Rubicon Express.

You obviously have an axe to grind, surely the Mopar kit is adequate for dirt roads.

Don't be afraid of spacers and shock extensions. We wheeled all over moab on the no name extreme terrain budget spacer kit and 37's. Comes with bump stops, sway bar links, spacers, and shock extensions for ~$250. Ran Fins & things, hells revenge (including hells gate), top of the world, poison spider, golden spike, and gold bar rim without issues. We've done a bunch of upgrading since, but we literally put the spacer kit and tires on 2 days before our 1st moab trip, jumped in the Jeep, drove 1,100+ miles out there with the cruise control set at 80mph+, wheeled for 4 days, and drove home. No wandering, no death wobble, no coils falling out. We have added a front track bar and bracket, front lca's, coils, fox shocks, rear track bar bracket, drag link, HD Ball Joints, etc in the 3 years since, but the thing was still a beast on mostly stock parts.

Do not waste your money on a lift from RE. I would recommend a spacer lift all day long over a lift from them. 20 years ago they were on the leading edge and made excellent gear. They sold out to a larger company and outsource all their manufacturing now. Hot garbage.

Yes, I did read that they have outsourced to mfg in China if not already, soon and would be made of cheaper materials.

It’s sad, they were an excellent company back in the day. Do not buy their stuff, you will be sorely disappointed. I would steer clear of anyone who recommends them as well.
