¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Leather is more comfortable, easier to clean, and can handle rain better.

Just throw some towels on the seats if you're leaving it in the sun with the top off because they get hot.

Leather or NOT???? Why????

Thanks!
I got the leather in my Sahara and I like it Easy to keep clean especially if you have dogs in your Jeep I live in the northeast and don’t have to much of a problem with the seats getting hot in the sun because summer is short My last Jeep had the dual tops but on this one I opted for the Bestop sunrider for the hard top and I love it Changing out the tops was a bit of a pain in the ass Plus I like the leather on the dash versus the paint If you have dogs definitely go with the leather

The tan leather is great, but is does look a bit loose and wrinkled sometimes. It also had quite a bit of blue staining from my jeans, but that cleaned right up with a bit of soap. I'd recommend the leather, or at least, Katzkin leather.

I like the look of leather and it's easy to clean. The sun can take it's toll on leather if the top is off all the time. Another problem is it is really hot and does not breath well in hot weather. Think sweaty. It is also cold in cold weather but the cold is a non-issue if you get the cold weather package. You can always install Katzskins later if you buy cloth and don't like it.

To me, it depends on what you're going to do. If it's going to be mostly a city driver and kept nice then, by all means, go for the leather.

I knew I leave my tops off and we stand on our seats or get on them after being sweaty and muddy from hiking so I wanted the Bartact seat covers so I opted for the cheapest seats (not that I have a choice on my Sport). I can pull these covers off 15 years from now and the original seats will look brand new.
Why would you care what the seats look like in 15 years?

We got leather for the differences that had nothing to do with the material. The Leather comes with a fold down center armrest in the rear seat for the cup holders vs. floor cup holders. The leather also comes with the gap hider between the cargo area and the rear seats that the cloth does not come with.
Bingo.

I told myself to upgrade for the children's sake ;)

In a Sahara, I would think that leather is the most appropriate......

Prior to getting my Sahara I can't remember not having leather seats, but I have no regrets going with cloth in the Jeep. While leather can be very nice and is much easier to clean, it will be cold in the winter and hot in the summer, especially if you have the top off. That, combined with the fact that I wasn't convinced of the quality of FCA's leather, made it a fairly easy decision for me.

Another reason to get leather in a Wrangler is that it provides much better support than the cloth seats. I find the added firm support to be much more comfortable on long drives. If you prefer a LazyBoy, sink into the seat feel, go with cloth.

Opted for cloth in my Sahara this time and all of my previous vehicles have had leather. As the years go by, OEM leather is getting cheaper, thinner and doesn't wear as nice in my opinion. Starts looking pretty crappy after a very short time, and I take VERY GOOD care of my vehicles. Puckers, creases, grain wears down, etc.....

I also figured if I want leather in the future the Katzkins look better quality than factory and similar pricing.

I also chose cloth in my Sahara, I though I wold never buy a new car without leather, I was planning to by Skinz, however after reading several reports of the leather stretching when it gets wet and than having permanent wrinkles and poor fit. I decided to go cloth and try them out as I can always add leather. Frankly I love the cloth after 6 cans of Scotch guard, water rolls right off, spills easily clean.

I purchased the 5-star rated (900 5-star reviews) Rough Country neoprene Seat Covers $159 to go over my cloth , I would even put these over leather if I had it.
