Jeeps are Getting Expensive

Gotta love gears a $995 up charge. When I re-geared to 4.56, 4.88-4.10 etc were the same price. When I got my PU there was a long list of gearing options at no charge. Gears cost Jeep ~ the same, maybe slightly more for 4.88’s due to lower quantity buys.

But if you buy it with standard 4.10s and decide you want 4.88s, a regear locally is $3k. I agree there shouldn't be an upcharge from the factory but it's still cheap compared to a gear change after the fact. It would be nice if they let you pick and choose every option a' la carte and the prices were more representative of the added cost but that hasn't been a thing for a long time. You can thank gm for that with the advent of the Denali. They figured out like 90% of Yukons were being sold fully loaded so they added some trim, bundled it all together, and jacked up the price.

Yeah they were 495 last year or such with the manual transmission.

Like ZandCwhite said though whatever they can package and sell they will. 500 dollars increase though is just greed and "how much can we get away with?".

Agree— 3.73– no option , 1K would have saved me ~2.5 (well 2.5 included isotropic finish) if 4.56 offered. Still- my 95 Ram 2500 had a list from high fwy to stump pullers to choose from. A pet peeve of mine. 4.56 offered shortly after purchase with the XR. 4.56 only no 4.10 - 4.88 etc.

How come my 21 SOT was $2K because 392’s had a painted top standard, $4K on 24’s, the painted top is still standard ? How come the XR package that included a long list including many expensive ones for a Willys cost the same $4K on a 392 that came with the lift, axles, upgraded shocks, high flares and beadlock capable (Willys brakes?)standard ?

I wouldn't buy that if I were a multi-millionaire. Would build my own for 100k and give the 25k to local food bank. Might as well throw 25k in the fireplace otherwise.
