Just ask @cosine he knows!
IIRC got our Sport S w/ AT & Hardtop for $30,500 back in Jan. 2019, ordered from Jim Marsh at 6% under invoice, Oh the good 'ol days :)
And who thought vehicles are just a depreciating drag on your portfolio :)

Nice truck, but that is because no one will buy them so they are 10k off. Zr2 is a lot more truck also.
Same size bed, less towing capacity, less suspension travel. Worse shocks, it's a lot more car with its plush interior and ifs, I don't see it as more truck in any way but you do you.

Just using the dealers around these parts the Sport S cost more than a Rubicon did just 3 years ago. I bought 2020 off the lot with very little off MSRP I think it was 44500. 3 years ago! 49k for a mid optioned Sport S, 60k today for mid level Rubicon of comparable options.

I would not pay that kind of money for a Wrangler. So my last Wrangler as it stands now.

Not in the 4 door, 35s only available with the auto. The 2 door X didn't get 35s and can be ordered with the manual. On the jeep.com configuration tool you'll find as soon as you select the X package it will change the trans automatically.
You might be pricing the 2023 model, maybe explains what your seeing?
If you price the 2024 (4 door), and select the Rubicon X model, it's $62,185.
It does not add the automatic transmission either, so if you add that and nothing else, it pops up to $69, 685.

Rubicon X on local dealer lot is near 71K probably added whatever was left? Ah they added the 4.88 gears was 995 option

Oh, I see what Zach did now. He used the 2024 Rubicon, then added the XR package that way.
Were talking apples to oranges.
Mike was comparing the "Rubicon X" model, not Rubicon plus XR package.

Retired and loving it!
I sold our '03 2D Wrangler with 100K+ miles back in May for $8900. Then bought a new '23 Wrangler 2D, 6, auto, Sat radio, other stuff...for a bit over $50k. Sold the hard top and bought the soft top.

These prices are not sustainable-especially for a depreciating asset. Something has got to give... it always does.

Simple economics.

My 21 build $77.6K- The last local comparable one, a mid 23 before 4Xe only after mark up $108+K, 24’s higher…. Left me behind too, simply couldn’t afford it. Yea- I bought elsewhere that doesn’t mark up but seeing an over $100K Wrangler was stunning, it was sold “ to a rich kid from out of town” . You can get over $100K on a 24 before mark up.

Yeah, around here too. I was looking for a 2 door, but IDK if I want to spring for that much.
You can actually get good deals around here on JT's though, they are 10-$13K off MSRP, both Mojave and Rubicon editions.

Trust me nobody thinks about this more than me! I hate how expensive Jeeps have gotten and the not-so-subtle increases on the options and Destination. I bought my 2014 JKU sport for $27k, my 2022 JLUR XR for $56k and now a 392 for $86k. But I'm loyal to the brand because nothing else compares for me and my needs.

Nothing we can do, prices will keep going up past inflation curves.

Gotta love gears a $995 up charge. When I re-geared to 4.56, 4.88-4.10 etc were the same price. When I got my PU there was a long list of gearing options at no charge. Gears cost Jeep ~ the same, maybe slightly more for 4.88’s due to lower quantity buys.
