for your 5 points made OP

my answer is i just dont give a shit lol

storage space is fine on a 4 door, how much more room do you need?

I have a 2 door Rubicon 6 speed that my wife cant drive. We go places with my three year old just fine. Does it suck to have a 2 door with a kid/kids? YES. Thats why this Saturday i pick up my JLURX lol

im 38. when i was a kid my dad had a 94 Ford Tempo. We managed just fine. That thing was 95hp or some shit.

Who cares bro. Take the top off on an 80 degree day and go somewhere

OP- you make some good points, If you are used to driving something like a GL450, Lexus 550, or even a Toyota 4Runner and Acura MDX, or something from BMW and Audi, the Wrangler drives like crap. I actually have two of the ones mentioned above. I'd NEVER buy one if I dod not do some overloading and some crawling. Since I do, I love mine, and the JLURX I have is the most civilized Wrangler ever. Try not to jump into a TJ or CJ.

Just don’t get these threads. I don’t walk into every clothes store in the mall to tell them why I don’t own their Jeans.

”Hey, how’s your day going? I don’t like your jeans, they don’t accentuate my flat butt, no hips, and no sac areas. Change my mind?”

Remove the 4R from your list. My 21 Wrangler replaced a 210K mi 05 4R. It rides much better, every little bump was jarring, handling, the 4R swayed like a tuna boat in rough seas. Got about 2 more mpg with 210 less HP. It was the top Unlimited V8 model. Yes, mostly reliable, until it wasn’t needing repairs well in excess of it’s value.

Hmm, I’ve driven and owned a lot worse. The Wrangler handles, steers, and rides better than other vehicles I’ve had the last 35 years. I guess it’s perspective. Having had some nice sports cars and luxury cars, it’s not going to top any of those at those ends of the spectrum.

Compared to my ‘02 my ‘25 is a Cadillac!!
Try driving an '83 on Rough Country springs. You'll think a JL is a 70s Cadillac.

Sorry, *RC and “springs” cannot be used together. They ruined the ride on my 63, it felt like no springs. I even pulled a leaf out of each, meh, a little better…. But I fit the 33’s Man, so
I was The Winner !.

edit- *Rancho ?

I am one of those people who enjoy hearing other's opinions, especially if they are different from my own. Thinking differently from me is expected and encouraged in my group of friends and family.

I started a thread on the Rivian forum asking why the hate every time someone comes on and shares their negative experiences... Not because I was baiting the known-hate bashers (which it totally did) but because I actually wanted to understand how other people experiences and expectations differ from my own.

I will say, when you compare the modern JT/JL platform, on many traditional metrics (ride quality, power, fuel economy, etc) you can see how they rank as low as they do. The modern plastic bubble mid-size SUV segment is really uninspired, in my opinion. I think it's primarily the reason the JT/JL platform sells - we are spoilt for choice if we want a quiet, plush, plastic hybrid mid size SUV. They're all the same with a different badge on the front.

I feel generally that our species has a knack for building great things, then promptly resenting the piss out of them and wanting to go back to the old ways. I bought a brand new Highlander hybrid SUV a few years ago, and on the drive home I realized I hated the ever-loving piss out of it. It was actually a really comfortable ride, good fuel mileage, the family/dogs were happy enough in it. I just missed the analog experience of solid axles, part time 4wd, hearing tires whine on the highway.

Traded it three months later on a JT rubicon diesel...

The great thing about our time and place in the space/time continuum is that we have the choice to make our decisions about what we want. It wasn't always this way, and it wont always be this way. The Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator represents an era of promising reliable, stout, analog machines that do hard work, don't complain, and bring us joy (even if they don't always deliver on those promises)

I think a lot of our expectations with Wranglers, or any vehicle for that matter, are highly dependent on our individual driving histories and previously-owned vehicles. Prior to the JL, my DDs consisted of CJ-3B, TJ, and CJ-5, and I spent many of my working years driving HMMWV's over rough terrain. As such, my 2-door JL Sport feels like a luxury sedan, although I do agree that the 3.6L is a slug. If I had a 4-door, there's no doubt I'd go with a different engine.

I'm sorry the Wrangler didn't work out for you, but I totally respect your pragmatic and honest assessment instead of trying to make yourself like it just so you can fit in with the Jeep crowd. While you may never fully love the Jeep, I suspect you'll appreciate it a little more after a few offroad trips. In any case, I hope your wife enjoys it and best of luck no matter what you drive.

I don't drive it if you read my post, it's for the wife because it's a woman's vehicle......

She likes the stupid waves and the ducks, like a rainbow fan club if your (sp) a man.
MAN, this takes me back to the days when I was playing WOW on dial-up. A Troll and a Noob all rolled into one.

I WAS going to post some pics and vids for your "wife" illustrating what a cool choice she made (on picking a Jeep, not on any other specific life choices) then I saw this comment as I starting down this threads rabbit hole.

Instead, I will wisely do something I rarely ever do...and that's "ignore" someone.
You seem to thrive on the psychology of your Troll-Role. I am glad you found something which makes you happy!

I have the same 4R. Rides beautifully and far smoother than my 2012 JKR or 2014JKUR did. I did replace the suspension with a FJ TRD Pro’s
suspension so it is a firmer but awesome ride. 230K 2005 V8. I also have a GL450 which on road is amazing.

I always crack up when people run out and buy a suburban soon as they have a single kid

I’m 1 of 5 kids. At two points in my life (when it was just 3 of us kids) my dad either had a single cab ford ranger or a Toyota Tercel

Both of which we did just fine. I have a 9 year old now, I had a 2023 civic that I traded in on the jeep. Worked perfectly for us. Jeep is just cooler
