After reading this I need to take mine in. Two months ago I had an ASS fault that came in and went off and the ASS hasn’t worked since. The menu just says that the battery is charging.
Hi ppfingsten,
We can imagine why this would be concerning. Please let us know if you need any assistance once you are able to visit your dealer for this. The best way to reach us is via private message.

So my ESS has stopped engaging after pressing the break. It is in fact enabled and I have no messages on the dash saying that it shouldn't work. I do, however, for a brief time after starting see a message that ESS is disabled while battery is charging; but, it goes away rather quickly.

I'd like to take it into the dealership but it's unclear what they will do or charge me since I've already installed roam side steps (with lights) and a winch+solenoid. I've read the messages here and I'm out of ideas. Thoughts?

Man, reading this thread....seems like FCA quality on the "new" ESS is really poor. Way to go Jeep!:no:
The concept of quality control on ESS is oxymoronic.

It is a travesty in its very concept, and travesties cannot be of high quality, I think.

It exists purely to scam the ridiculous mileage requirements, efficiency and long-term viability be damned.

I don’t blame FCA. All car manufacturers are forced into this idiotic dance by out-of-control leftist morons setting government policy.

Save a pound by making windshields so thin that they crack in a strong wind. Anything to avoid debilitating fines.

On and on. It needs to stop.

Hello balan,

I can understand how this could be concerning, if you decide to schedule an appointment with your dealer, we can provide an additional layer of assistance while in service.

Wow, ours has never engaged the ESS, ever. We've had the vehicle for about 5 weeks now. Not that I want ESS to engage, I understand this could be a problem down the road. Best to get it taken care of ASAP.

Lucky me. It's like I won the lottery. My auto start/stop just randomly quit working two weeks ago. It no longer shuts off when I roll up to stop, the switch no longer illuminates, nothing at all. And the Jeep still operates perfectly, no detectable issues, no check engine light or anything. At first I thought this was because weather or something random, but I have driven in all conditions (it's Michigan so we have had snow, rain, sun, 10 deg. and 66 deg. weather over the last 2-weeks). I take the same route to work daily so nothing there has changed either.

I assume there is some sort of problem, but I won't be telling the dealer about it because I'm afraid he will fix it.

Anyone else have this blessing?
Yes. I learned the shrapnel field of an exploding Sahara is quite extensive.

Just looked... Sure as heck, we've got an error. Scrolled through and saw a message " Start/Stop not enabled, needing to be serviced". or something like that. Regardless, it says it needs to be serviced. So we'll make an appt. with the dealership.

Glad I saw this thread!
