What would the 500 mean in that context? There's also a charging port, implying it's a 4xe.
Probably horsepower or torque. The peak HP or torque probably doesn't align with the 4xe's electric motor, so you can't just add them together.

Or the SRT tune = 369 lb.ft. = 500 newton meters. FWIW the 2.0's 295 lb.ft. = 400 Nm, and the 3.0's 442 lb.ft. = 600 Nm, and even the 2.2 = 450 Nm... so they seem to like to tune turbos to round newton meter numbers.

Actually it's probably full "Level 2" charging capable: 19.2kW vs. the current 4xe maximum of 7.7 kW. And maybe the 500 refers to something with the battery?

That seems incredibly unlikely since apparently nothing was ever mentioned about it. All I've seen is speculation along with some denial of involvement by AEV.

I can't tell by those pictures.

Even so bore center is bore center. And Stellantis has posted the overall lenght, the thing is a monster!
There is a liner on the 2.0 in those pictures. It looks like a dry liner design, not a wet one, so very thin.

I saw something on FB where an employee from AEV mentioned that they did the normal level II upfit package, but that it's a standard 2.0 4xe.

He didn't really know what was special about that Jeep's engine, but he was pretty adamant that the 3.0 inline 6 wouldn't fit.

I mean, how much longer can it be than the old 4.0 Inline 6? I guess if its an XE the additional electric portion may put it past the limits.

Does the old 4.0 fit in a JL? I wouldn't think so.

I used to work in a machine shop and have bored & sleeved many engines. The aftermarket sleeves are usually thicker then the originals, even those are only mms thick.
To see posts saying they removed the sleeves to shorten the block is just nutty. They would really be scraping for mms.
Besides Stellantis has posted both engines have the same bore centers.
I've seen posts both ways that the I4 has sleeves and has not. But that could be just confusion between the two engines.

Pretty certain I read that the 3.0 has sprayed-on liners.
Sounds…..disposable.
TWAS, Twin Wire Arc Spray has been used for a generation or more with excellent results.
AMG has used it in some of their highest-performing vehicles, some of which inhaled copious amounts of nitrous while in my care.

It is a mature technology

+1. See the history of Nikasil, for example.
