Take painters tape and apply around the edge of the glass where it meets the frame - essentially you want to cover the rubber seal. Once you've covered the gap, take it for a spin, make sure you get up to highway speed. If the noise is gone its a fitment issue, meaning the glass is not seated correctly or the rubber seal has failed (I'm not an expert by any means). After this experiment I took it to the local dealership and they replaced the entire windshield.

Good luck!
Thanks for that. So I’m sure I understand I put the painters tape on the outside Correct. I’ll give it a shit thanks again.

Yep - outside. You are trying to prevent the wind from hitting that seal.

I ordered with Mopar Headliners, its almost as quiet as my F150 as an fyi, the white looks stupid but shes quiet
Wow. I have the headliners too, and mine is loud like no other vehicle. At 60+ it's like you have a window cracked. It doesn't bother me and it sounds like it's normal from what I've read, but it does surprise my passengers who are thinking a window must be down. If yours is as quiet as a pickup, maybe it's time to look into why mine isn't.

I have the headliners, and it's not as quiet as a F150, but only due to some wind noise at the front. No whistles, just wind buffeting around the windshield/top at the front. Nowhere near as loud as my JK was, it's a significant step forward.

I posted many pages ago about the whistling noise due to my windshield being installed about 5 mm too far to the passenger side (from factory). Taping it off got rid of the noise, but it's obviously a temporary solution. I cracked the windshield last week and had it replaced by ClearCut Glass a couple days ago. The guy made sure to place it directly in the middle and added extra sealant when installing it. Not only is the whistling gone, but I swear it's also a bit quieter at 65+ mph.

Good luck guys!

Keep us posted on your findings!
Finally think I got the wind crackling noise solved!!!
Driving this last week the noise was driving me nuts, so I took the time to lean in close while driving at highway speeds, listening to where noise is. Determined source of my driverside crackle noise seemed to come from the door around where the side mirror is. Looking through FCAs documentation, they mention the flag piece (black triangle plastic trim piece). I removed it (by the way two different spring clamps, the top one could possibly fall inside door, mine did) and slightly bent the flag piece so that it sat more flush with the driver door. Since then, no more crackle!

Just got my Jeep back from my dealership, after diagnosis they have ordered me a new Freedom Panel (Drivers side ) & Header Seal. Should be fixed / installed in about a week.

Honestly I think jeep could have improved the SEAL around the entire door better. Thats why it so noisy. My noise is not from the freedom panels, but seems like its more from just the door seals. I mean you can practically stick your hand in between the DOOR and Door Frame. Theres just no sealing.

My JL is a week old. Drove it short distance on highway before signing and heard wind noise upper left driver's side. Wasn't bad so decided to wait to see if anything else popped up before taking it in. Took it out on a windy night and starting at 45 mph it developed a whistle that got louder as I got to 55 mph. Turned and drove opposite direction still there but not as loud. Taped windshield, freedom panels and front door gaps, still whistled. One time it sounded like popcorn popping on top of the windshield. Looked and could see a little bit of light at driver's door upper seal. Put some tape in gap but still whistles. Everything seems tight so will take into dealer in a couple of weeks to see what they can find.

Interesting response from the Jeep Care rep. I just drove 2 different 2019 JL's and both have the same wind noise issue as the ones I drove in Jan of 2018. One was so loud that I could actually feel the air flowing into the Jeep at the top of the windshield seam. The sales person was non plussed when I pointed this flaw out to them. They commented, "its a Jeep, what do you expect". I replied, that for nearly $50k I expect better!
