Gladiator Fox shocks on JLUR?

They are my first time with by-pass shocks. A true game changer.

I would be very curious to see how they would handle on a stock JLUR. I'm often tempted to give it a shot whenever I see Mojave takeoffs come up for sale.

The Synergy Springs I have on now, are the closest to stock rates.
While I have not tried the Mojave on stock Rubicon springs, I would say they are very close to stock rubi reds. They will be a touch softer " road ride" , but will take the hit in the bypass zone without "bang or clank" of bottoming out.

Honestly, I would not spend the money on an up graded shock unless I went up to a bypass shock. The Mojave is a cheap way to get into the bypass shocks. I have run the Fox 2.0 Accutune LSC adjustable 2.0. Then other's on my TJ. The up graded aftermarket are good, but it's a real change to go bypass.
I have a set of the Fox 2.5 DSC I'm going to test soon. I'm too cheap to buy the 3.0 Fox bypass. Unless I find a set used for a good buy. I have not seen any for sale yet.

I was pretty impressed with the Mojave set up when I test drove it. Told the dealer I wanted to go through some dips to test it out. His response was to direct me to this closed dirt road where I proceeded to test the hydraulic bumps a few times. lol

Ultimately the wife preferred the JL to the JT and here we are. Living in the desert makes me long for hydraulic bumps and bypass shocks.

For whoever successfully replaced the rear shock upper bushings, how do you get the lip of the bushing going into the eye? I tried to do it with bolt, nut, washers and socket. The lip just did not want to go in and finally teared up ?.

I cut part of the lip so it fit - and then pressed it in with a quarter and a puller

This looks insanely ghetto, because it is, but it worked, no issues with the shocks after some rough trips.

Thanks. This will be my last resort and the lips are wasted anyway. But there must be a better way to do it ? .

I put Jt rubicon fox shocks on our JLU xr and it does ride better on road but seems to bottom easier in front off road but the xr has lowered bump stops. Anybody running the fox shocks off gladiator rubicon seem to agree on bottoming out easier? Thanks

Yes. As I mentioned in my reply somewhere in this thread, love gladiator shocks on road and on dirt roads, but needs more dumping off road.

I had read that, but i thought it was the rears that were soft, but oh well i still got my stock red shocks just really like the road ride of the foxs but bottom out very easy in front, guess you cannot have all huh. Thanks

I guess I was not clear, its both front and rears. I really like mine, as anything else except dropping from ledges is a big improvement. And unfortunately I spend 95% of the time on road. But I can see how this shocks might not be ideal for XR with extralong bumpstops.

Need to get a set off the Mojave. They just a touch firmer then the JT Rubicon. Bonus they are By-pass shocks. Gets 2 inches at top and 2 inches at bottom of stroke. Goes way firmer at the ends of travel.
Prices have come down since I bought my set.

That's actually my plan. I saw a set for a great price, but axles steering and tires are a priority for now.

4XE might be too heavy for gladiator fox shocks. You might feel too floaty because of the weight and not enough valving, but you'll never know unless you try
