That looks nice, thanks!

Was thinking of going with a hard mount like the M.O.R.E. 2-door mount (LINK) or the brewer3Ddesign mount (LINK) for the First Alert bracket. Think those are literally the only 2 bolt-in solutions for the 2-door.

A soft mount would probably be a quieter option, with less chance for any rattles, but was kinda concerned if it would eventually slide itself down, considering the steeper angle and that I won't be using a padded rollbar cover for it to dig into.

And sometimes I wonder if the JLU owners realize just how spoiled for choices they are in comparison to the much more limited selection of neat shit that what we can order? ?

No kidding on 2dr vs 4dr mods/accessories. I added a pic... been on for more than a year and still tight and secure.

@roaniecowpony sorry to side track the topic, I really like your water tank bracket. Is this something you bought or fabricated yourself?
I fabricated it, or should I say; I designed it and a friend's employee fabricated it as I walked him through what I wanted.

I'm the IC for the hospital where I work. We've done countless drills on fire prevention, containment and extinguishing. That said, getting the largest ABC extinguisher you can manage can "buy you time," but depending on the size , location and type of fire, might not extinguish it.

I went with a conventional 5lb extinguisher that I have checked every 6 months with our facility extinguishers and have it rotated every year with new or recharged ones.

I've had to use for camping incidents that got out of hand and thankfully, not for any roadside engine fires. The only time I would use an extinguisher for an engine fire is when life was in immediate danger. We're trained that the FD is best at handling fires and I leave it to them when I can.

I use a Bartact Velcro soft mount.

I'm considering a fire extinguisher before going on the Rubicon. I looked at them and thought that a Co2 would be the way to go. Looking for comments about which kind and size to get, and why you'd pick one type over another.
CO2 extinguishers are not effective outdoors. To displace the oxygen in a fire situation, they are really only effective in enclosed spaces.

I have a marine style BC dry chemical extinguisher attached to my roll bar with multiple heavy duty zip-ties. Its been there for several years and never moved.

I was considering buying the Element extinguishers until I watched a few you tube videos. They didn't seem very effective and you need to be too close to the fire. I don't think they will work well in the real world.

I went this route because I liked what I read about it……. I can’t give you a real world review, and I hope I never can…..?

I use have these, mostly car use, but will be installing one in the Jeep a soon as i can find a seat mount that works (recommendations appreciated). I thought I’d put it somewhere on the roll bar but don‘t want to draw attention with the top down/off and I want it within easy reach if needed. TIA for any feedback.

I'm not concerned about putting out non-vehicle fires. As someone said; leave that to the FD. Co2 has a long history of use on vehicles with gasoline or electrical fires. It starves the fire of heat and oxygen. While an ABC dry chem extinguisher works very well, it also has a number of issues with the residue.

I like using CO2 for oven fires. You can still eat the food after the fire is out. ;) They also work great with dryer fires.

For kitchen, remember BC extinguishers work best for stove fires. They stay as a powder and are easy wipe up after. The ABC gets the A property by melting and requires serious scraping to remove.

Not sure Element is in its Element at a fire....

That said the user in the video came at wrong. If you note the wind was blowing the flames and he was chasing the wind. What he should have done was go vertical and move closer and closer to the center of the fire till you create a donut in that pan and fire will prob smother itself at that point.

In most caes aim at the center base of the fire because that is where the propellant is and the flames are just the result of the ignition going on and that is what you need to stop!

Then he went of the a handful of sticks burning and once again the Element had one job and managed to fail it also.
