I guess this justifies me constantly having my windows down. They can clean the shattered glass in the garage instead of me pulling it out of my skin ...

Maybe they can add this to the bill as another reason to legalize doorless Jeeps in Pennsylvania ;)

I didn't.
Maybe the fuses aren't pushed down?
@sweetjen73 didn't ask if it has happened to anyone else and you didn't reply to that question with "No."???

Maybe I need to have my glasses checked?

Just don't drive next to another Jeep when you have your windows down. You're in the kill zone.

My back side window cracked and I discovered it one morning.

It forced me to replace with a sliding window. I couldn't justify the $500 for a stock replacement.

Tempered glass can and will "explode" seemingly at random times.

I worked with my dad in the glass business during summers when school was out. I witnessed tempered glass breaking in cars inside the shop that Noone was touching.
There was a batch of door and back glasses that after being installed and had the normal pressures from normal use, they would suddenly shatter.

The first time I witnessed it was on a late 70's Ford Granada. I helped my dad install the passenger door glass. After we finished, he said stayvaway from that car and just watch from a distance. So I watched while he sat nearby drinking coffee. In hardly no time at all, BOOM! it shattered. He picked up the phone, called the warehouse and told them another one busted and asked for another door glass to be delivered.

He told me it happens more than it should.
That's kind of what it sounds like, a quality issue.

On a serious note @sweetjen73 It might be a good idea to get some ceramic tint put on your windows. Even if you don't like the tint, you can get clear ceramic film put on. It looks like your from Rhode Island, so you probably not going to get a lot of heat up there, But next time a window shatters for you, the ceramic film will protect a lot of the exploding glass from going the direction of inside the vehicle. It'll still get inside the vehicle, just you know it won't be flying over to your side as much.

Well it seems like this is not common, at least I’m this group. I’ll followup with my dealership and see if they can diagnose an issue. Appreciate the helpful comments and replies everyone!

Don't know about the rear glass, cause you weren't moving. But we've seen windows shatter every now and then from people just driving down the road. People always think they were shot at (probably cause of the pop they hear) when it's mostly from a tiny sharp stone flying off a tire.... and could even be from your own. I've been surprised to have stones fly off of my own tires and hit the windshield, side windows (haven't had one break, fortunately) etc. when I've been the only one driving down a dirt road. Some rock you picked up in your tire could've dislodged and just the right time.

Without a film of tint on the glass to keep it in one piece, it'll be near impossible to see where the point of impact/ origination was. Id wonder if the bolts holding in the rear glass were over torqued? Just guessing on that, could be a defective piece.
