I have a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. In October, I closed my jeeps passenger side door and the back side window exploded. Had it replaced for $500 and was told that something probably hit it first. Was driving on Wednesday of this week (6 months later) on the highway and for no reason, my front seat passenger window exploded! When I say no reason, it was 60 degrees and I was driving 65-70 mph, and not much traffic. I had to pull over because I was covered in glass! $500 again! I have contacted Jeep Wave and they said they never heard of this but they will investigate. I have read several posts on here regarding exploding windows. Yet, the people at Jeep are saying they’ve never heard of this happening. This is a SERIOUS safety concern. Has this happened to anyone else?

Just a random sort-of "out there" question: Did you purchase the Jeep used -- could there have been some sort of undisclosed side impact? Also, have you checked the other two windows for potential flaws/chips?
I hope you get some answers

Tempered glass can and will "explode" seemingly at random times.

I worked with my dad in the glass business during summers when school was out. I witnessed tempered glass breaking in cars inside the shop that Noone was touching.
There was a batch of door and back glasses that after being installed and had the normal pressures from normal use, they would suddenly shatter.

The first time I witnessed it was on a late 70's Ford Granada. I helped my dad install the passenger door glass. After we finished, he said stayvaway from that car and just watch from a distance. So I watched while he sat nearby drinking coffee. In hardly no time at all, BOOM! it shattered. He picked up the phone, called the warehouse and told them another one busted and asked for another door glass to be delivered.

He told me it happens more than it should.

How many 10s of millions of pieces of tempered glass are produced per year?

If spontaneous breakage was an issue it'd be happening constantly.
