I had heaters fail on me leaving me on the said of the road in the winter before not fun let's hope the JL comes with a better heater then my peterbuilt and Freightliner.
Is your JL Bikini Pearl? That's the color I ordered. I understand the derate in cold weather but if the temp is above 32 they should not derate the engine. The heater system is not needed for emissions at that temp.

Yeah I originally wanted to get stingray but everyone has that color near me. Well let's hope it's reliable I don't do much wheeling hanse the sport s. But if you do a lot of wheeling the 3.0 is a beast congratulation.

I got a chance to bring my 3.0 back to the dealer for the fuel and DEF we didn’t have time to put in the day of delivery. It took 2 gallons of DEF and probably would have taken more but we chose not to push it based on the meter showing 2/3-3/4 full. That was after 44 factory test miles and 7 miles driving it to the dealer.

My '20 Ram has been through 1/4 tank of DEF in 200 miles. Ouch.

DEF freezes at 12 deg fahrenheit, The DEF system has heaters in the tank and all fluid lines. During cold weather the DEF system is not used until the DEF is warmed up by these heaters so it will never shut a motor down because its frozen. It will if the heater circuit fails even if it's 100 deg outside. That is a system that I think they could program differently. Living in Fl you would think a check engine light would be fine since the DEF is not and could not freeze but nope it will shut the truck down.
DEF consumption is based on outside temperature, load and driving habits. Pull a trailer in the cold and you will use 4 times the DEF as running around with no trailer and warm temps. Come summer you will think there is something wrong with your DEF system because the level will seem to never move off full.

If your DEF freezes it will cause the emgine to go into "LIMP" mode with a max of 5 mph. This is also why you do not fill to the top of the fill tub as there is NO heating there.

So only 549 miles and this much usage, it's safe to say it's not lasting 10k.

Gosh, I’d have to say something is wrong. I use about 1gal/1000-1200 miles on my 2014 Ram Ecodiesel.

When I picked mine up from the dealership the DEF was not full, it was about 3/4 by the gauge. I'll wait for it to get low and then track it from the fill I give it.

Was it topped off at delivery? Not per the gauge but per a person actually filling it.
I'm not sure if it was, I'm just going off what it went through the last 549 miles.
