It seems like im not the only one who has a DD then haha. While talking to other people ive heard that a beater is a good idea and others have said that i bought it to drive it. As much as i love driving it i just dont want it to have 300k miles by the time it is 5 years old.
Dang! 60k miles a year?

Planned to buy a wrangler for a toy, test drove used jk's for 25-30k. Was not impressed until driving a jl, decided it was gonna be wife's daily. Spent more than I planned but 5 month later I have few regrets. Winter is coming though and I sure hate salt bath ruining investment.

Not literally haha, i was exaggerating. I do about 30-35k a year between both my vehicles, most of them being to and from work. I bought my subaru off of a friend 1 1/2 years ago with 130k on it, it now has almost 175k. I just dont want the jeep to be in the same boat as i would like to enjoy it for years to come.

Another great reason for a second vehicle. I do admit i drive mine in the snow so it does get a salt bath, but i wash it right away and will drive the car for most of the small messy storms since it is also awd.

Most of my Jeeps have been extra vehicles, and most of them were used and pretty old. My current Wrangler, however, is brand-new and is my daily driver. I much prefer the extra-Jeep strategy, but when my kids started reaching driving age, it became difficult to justify, due to insurance cost and garage space issues.

I commute daily in my Jeep... about 70 miles round trip. I have a lift and 35's but still get 17.5 mpg in Atlanta traffic.

I have a pickup truck for towing so my Jeep is my commuter car.

I use my rubi for my DD. I only drive about 12k miles a year with little highway.

How can you not feel a little sad for all the folks that either have to, or choose to, pass by the Jeep FOB for the Prius keys every morning for whatever reason? Think about it, that’s heartbreaking, kinda.

Lmao! I’m contributing to the beautiful NJ air!! Gas costs me a fortune but I figure if I have to drive as much as I do, I may as well love what I drive!
DD here as well. My wife kept saying it was a bad decision because of the gas mileage, but I had the best counter for that! My new company provides a gas card for personal vehicles... I dont even pay attention to the gas prices...unless Im on a weekend trip or something, then I feel like gas prices are really out of hand...

Tough life... I have to use the Jeep for all those things!!! hahahah
You’re probably having just as much fun in your Jeep. I’ve owned the other cars mentioned, and you wouldn’t believe the amount of additional stress you feel when driving pristine sports cars (as long as you like to keep them pristine). To be honest, it’s not worth it unless you can get away with low mileage leases. At least that way you don’t own any potential headaches.
