Yes. After paying for a rental for six months, my mechanic was finally able to get all parts and complete repair. Cost came to over $9,000. I drove cross country with no issues. I’ll be following up with a lawyer when I get back home next week.

These are pics of the hole blown thru my transmission by the explosion of what Jeep claims was misuse/abuse of the clutch.

Again, if anyone knows of any lawsuits pending on this matter or knows of an expert qualified to testify about same, I would really appreciate a contact.

That’s gonna be a tough legal battle to win. It definitely looks like drag racing damage, no traction loss like a 5000 rpm 4wd launch. A good indicator will be the clutch plate, flywheel and tires/wheel wells. If you were truly driving down a street and this happened did you show them to tow bill? Low rpm damage would have a hammering effect inside the scatter shield area. Loose parts would have been moving around as you coasted to a stop.
Op post looks more like a low speed damage. That’s the straps holding the friction ring in place. FCA probably used a low quality metal. Save all broken parts for testing. Good luck

He did not...

I believe they came out with a recall in regards to this issue. It was a software upgrade that would essentially put the Jeep into limp mode if this type of issue was about to happen. Something I neglected to take my Jeep in for.
In fairness to the OP, it was a ridiculous recall. What Jeep should be doing is issuing a recall that actually fixes the inherent design failures with this MT, but that will never happen.

Different dude. The guy I quoted is not the op. The MT is awesome, the clutch is fine too for 99.9% of us.

echoing a comment someone had prior that i didn't see answered - were there any warning signs, sounds, feelings with the clutch going on prior to this?

Fixed it for ya! :CWL: Many people like the manual & clutch, but there are others (myself included) that feel the clutch pedal itself could use more feel. Way too light for my tastes.

Hey guys, I figured I’d let you know how my experience went as well. After kissing the service departments ass with a sob story the manager was able to cover the repair Under the 60000 mile power train warranty. I think I lucked out because he said that’s not something they normally do as clutch parts are considered wear items. Regardless, I only ended up needing a clutch kit, flywheel and throw out bearing (I think, it’s been a bit). I had a friend weld the small holes in my bellhousing and it’s been fine so far. I hope this helps.

Get the recall done. I had the recall done and it does NOT detune the engine but does make the rev hang a lot less noticeable. I stated this in another thread that in my opinion when the rpm's rise when shifting (rev hang) I'm sure it overheats the clutch. My 2022 barely has any rev hang.

The recall doesn’t do anything for rev hang. You’ve got some placebo going on.

Placebo?? lol, It's very simple to understand. When you shift the rpms rise anywhere from 1 to 2 thousand rpms in between shifts NOW the rev's drop as I shift instead of rising! How is that placebo?? This happened after I had the recall done.

What year JL's are being recalled? I looked up 2022 recalls and didn't see anything

I had no issues with my 2022 and it drives perfect. On my 2018 the rev hang was horrible but a lot better after the recall. FCA must have applied it to the new jeeps long ago.
