From Google it seems that Walmart Supertech is bottled by Warren Refinery Company and or Valvoline.

I have never heard of Warren to be honest.

Say oil is changed every 2500 miles but filter every 5000 miles. What can go wrong, can the 2500 mile filter contaminate the new oil?
Thanks!
[/QUOTE. If you put 4qts of clean oil and a qt of dirty oil. Shake it up. You now have 5 qts of dirty oil. I would not do it. But with todays oil I would run 5-6k miles then change

To the OPs original question you will be fine not changing the filter, it will still do the job for the next 2500 miles. I have never done this on a DD but I have on a couple old cars I have that only see 1000-1500 miles a year

Why not change them both? Why mix a dirty filter, with clean oil?
I agree, oil and filter are cheap insurance in the long run. If you're going to go cheap, and providing that your are not using anything less than a name brand oil like Mobil 1 or Chevron, try changing and use only a quality oil filter at every 2,500 miles interval and the oil at every 5,000 miles interval.

Most likely, the OP thinks it's best to go cheap and he/she more than likely is using cheap discount gasoline from Costo or other cheap discount gasoline retailers so it won't make much difference in his/her concept of oil changes for the long run. It will cost him/her more money in the long run and in poor performance and emission levels.

Just cheap away as you please.

I change my underwear every shower though. New shower, new underwear 😁

You need to stay off the internet, forums to be exact. You are creating problems that aren't happening, and causing yourself worry. You can change your oil every 5 miles if you want. You don't have to post a question about everything on your Jeep. Next you will be asking if the color of your dash is different than all the other Jeeps, cause you read somewhere Jeep ran out of that color for a day, and You want to know if your Jeep was part of it. Just stop.

There's food for thought in that quote.

@Jeep Junkie
We can see that you want to learn about your Jeep. In isolation, that's great, but doing a deep dive on every little thought that comes to mind is wasted energy and can eventually become counterproductive.

The lion's share of your concerns are plainly addressed in the Owner's Manual that you should be reading first. Note that invented scenarios like staggered oil and filter changes aren't mentioned in it.

The Wrangler isn't a fragile flower that requires special care. Follow the general guidance in the manual, and both you and the vehicle should be fine. 👍

Changing every 2,500 is a complete waste of time and money. It does absolutely nothing, zero nada as far as extending the engine life 999 times out of 1,000. It is completely unnecessary and outdated (are you by chance in your upper 80's). A couple hundred other expensive things will completely fail on that jeep before the motor has an oil change frequency issue doing it on the manufacture recommended time table. Maybe you hate money.

Holy $hit I can't believe this retarded thread has gotten this many responses. Obviously the OP does not use Amsoil because if he did he would know he can go 54,386 miles per oil change with Amsoil. Why? Because Amsoil is the greatest oil ever made. You can run Amsoil in an engine with a crack in the cylinder wall and it will actually seal that crack and make the engine run even better. I feel sad for people who don't use Amsoil.

It's barely at a warm idle. There's room to grow.

I've told this story before.

One of my business professors in college purchased a new Astro Van (remember them?) that ejected a rod at ~50K miles.

After a few Qs, we learned that he never changed the original factory oil. That's what led to the block self-perforating.

If only he had purchased the greatest brand of oil ever made...

How many pots of coffee do you make using the same filter? Yes, my analogy is directly related and equivalent. Hope that helps indeedy.

Yeah umm, not equivalent but we get the idea. A coffee filter doesn't filter out dirt and particulate, it simply keeps the grounds from getting in your coffee lol.

the oil filter housing is fine. tighten by hand w a ratchet carefully till you feel it snug up, then maybe another inch or so movement on the ratchet and the filter is tight. wellah no problems. did my v6 this way every 6k miles till i sold it with about 65k on it.
now if u use a 1/2 inch milwaukee and use Godzilla strength to torque it down, well, then you can imagine what will happen.
Not trying to be the grammar police but by wellah do you mean Voila - the French word for "There you are".
