I got the call today saying she’s ready for pickup. They told me there was no pitting so they replaced all hinges and zinc shim and repainted. I hope the black matches. I don’t have before pics but I’ll post some after pics

I dropped my Jeep off on Monday. They confirmed they would strip, sand, and repaint the hood and all four doors and replace all hinges. They called me yesterday saying it’s done and said the same. They also said not to wash it for a few weeks while it cures. I went to pick it up today and the paperwork says all the same.

When I went out to inspect, I saw some scratches on doors and the hood that I knew I had done. Upon further inspection they only replaced 6 of the 8 door hinges. I asked for my service rep and pointed this out and they said sometimes they don’t paint if things look ok on the doors. It also looks like they used scratch remover in places to mask not fixing it. He said he’d call me today about taking it back in next week.

Upon further inspection at home, it looks like the clear coat is cracked or chipped where they did change hinges. I also still have some bubbles on the doors. I’m not happy and I don’t trust the dealership at this point. I’m not sure how to handle as other dealers in my area said they can’t do the work since they don’t have a body shop. This one told me they did have an outsourced body shop they work with.

No way I would trust that fast of a turnaround. I dropped my jeep off feb 11 and got it back yesterday. The jury is out on the work did to mine. It looks good when I picked it up but time will tell what it will look like. They said there was no pitting and applied the zinc patch and new hinge. They didn’t even install new hinge bolts. Just reused my existing. Obviously to keep it as cheap as possible. I didn’t ask but what is the warranty on the warranty work?

I’m going to look at it in better light today. I saw it at a little before dusk so hard to see if paint matches.

My invoice looks similar to yours, same codes and all, except no pricing on it. Just says N/C for no charge. Service Dept never called me back today. I’m going to see what they have to say Monday but I feel like this is more than just an oversight on their part.

Out of 3x getting the corrosion BS fixed under warranty - 2x it was outsourced to bodyshops. Both times the initial paint work was very deficient - BS. Dealer did not want to get involved because it was not their work - also BS. But in the end - the paint job was redone and turned out perfect. So was def a sh!t show. Drove around in rentals or body shop courtesy vehicles - which was better than nothing.

For the third and last time - the same Dealer told us they no longer outsource for corrosion. Nice. They recommended we go to a Dealer that had a body shop. Ok. Paint work done was perfect the first go around at the other Dealer. Nice. Very professional and what anyone would expect. Drove around in a base JL loaner for a few weeks. Even took it off-road. So perfect.

Can confirm that Dealer paperwork has prices vs what you see - which has N/C. Dealer told me that if any corrosion ever comes back where they touched anything even years down the road - they would ask for FCA approval to get it fixed under Goodwill. Ok.

Whoever ends up doing the corrosion warranty work - just make sure they do it properly and you are completely happy with the end result. As a 2018 now well past 5 years - the JL paint looks very close to brand new. Panels and hinges look perfect. Have to say this particular Dealer experience was excellent vs other previous 2 - which were time wasting BS.

It is what it is. Oh asked Manager how many JLs were in for corrosion covered under FCA warranty - he said 4.

some dealers don’t want to deal with it. I’m probably still on the list at the first place. Didn’t want to give me any paper work. Has my info penned into a notebook. Nothing that tells me they were serious about the work. So I went to the place I bought it from. It was an hour away but worth it in the end

Without many options for an alternative I went back to the dealership for round two. Hoping the dealership and their outsourced body shop do the right thing this time around.

Which dealership was this? I honestly have not been hearing a lot of good stories from any dealers here in CT.

I just got it back for the second time and they half assed it again. I talked to the service manager and he told me it should have been done and they’ll do it a third time. I called around a lot and this was the only one to take on the paint work.

Honestly ridiculous it’s either a no they won’t touch it. Or hounding them to do it right from a dealer. I gave them a list of problems and they didn’t address a lot of them. At a minimum , I asked that they replace the two hinges. They told me they did and they only changed one. They just painted over one bubbling hinge which is obvious and some of my panels still have bubbles.

My second time paper work says, “check door trim” not do the corrosion paint job they skimped on the first time. Debating on next steps now but contacting corporate for a fix. Will post the dealership once I have a plan forward. @JeepCares I’d like to talk about a solution please.

Awful to hear. I really hope the dealer isn’t executive, they’re the only ones willing to work with me at this point. I’ve been through 6 of them so far.

It isn’t Executive. When you say been through six do you mean called and were denied? Or you had some bad repairs elsewhere too? Either way good luck!

I was denied. Started the process in late 2020 with one, kept getting pushed back and back until 2022 when they said they weren’t going to do it. Called around to others, all told me to pound sand bc I didn’t buy it from them. Fairfield Jeep legit started yelling at me when I asked about it. Crowley was on board, had pictures taken etc then the general manager said he didn’t want to take my Jeep bc he was afraid of a poor review. This is how i ended up on Executive‘s waitlist.

@BigJim378 @Red19 @Impy5 sounds like your best bet is to call Stellantis directly or have your local dealer contact them for you to find the closest dealership with an on-site bodyshop. You'll have better luck with a dealer that can get it covered under warranty and has dealt with this repair frequently. The dealership my son bought his '20 JLUR from called Stellantis for him after telling him their hands were tied due to the cost of outsourcing the repairs. He had to bring the Jeep over to NYC as that was the closest dealer with a bodyshop.
