My son and I installed Rubi takeoffs on my JL and my wife's JLU, but I understand not everyone wants to do their own work. What Wrangler did you get? 4 door or 2 door? Which engine - 3.6 or 2.0? What part number Rubi springs did you get?

The noise is only while braking? Are there any burrs on the slots or holes that a pad might catch on?
Edit: My other thought was the parking brake, though that would probably make noise all the time. I just went through this on the weekend with my daughter's KJ - we were hearing a strange...
I'm in for sure. I'll probably leave around 6AMish, which would put me out at Rausch around 9AM. If anyone from Northeast NJ/NYC is interested we could meet along the way. I'm about 20 minutes from the GWB.
I talked to my son today, and now he's going to try and make it as well. And possibly...
Personally, I think my 2-door rides better with the Rubi springs and 33's than it did on the factory suspension and smaller tires. My wife and kids agreed. The only thing I eventually added was the Mopar lift longer lower control arms because it did feel a bit twitchy at 70+mph.
I think with...
Spring #'s will help figure out how much lift you'll see. The higher part numbers are taller. In my case, I bought 60/61 front springs and 90/91 rear springs from a V6, hard top/steel bumper Rubi and put them in my base 2.0T Sport with crank windows and a soft top. My JL wound up a bit taller...
I've been running that combo for about 4 years now, no complaints. If the options are similar, you'll get about 1"-1.5" lift. What's the part numbers on the springs in the garage?
Yeah, when we ordered my wife's '18 Sport S, I believe the upgraded cluster and 7" radio was all part of the Technology package along with the power remote locks, mirrors, and windows.
My '18 Sport is a base model and has the analog gauges with crank windows and manual locks.
Another option if you need a hitch is buying a used OEM one from Marketplace. That's where I scored the hitches for our JLs - mine was off a JK, and the other two were off JLs. You can find them pretty cheap and they're super easy to install - 4 bolts, and ~maybe~ removing a useless bracket...
It's not as convenient, but as mentioned, you only need to undo the lower flaps at each corner of the rear window and pop the bar. You can leave the bar connected to the window and just flip it up onto the roof. It is only difficult in cold weather because the window is not as flexible. I'm...
It does look like fun, I've never done it though. My only gripe is that it seems a bit pricey - the 101 Course through Off-Road Consulting is half the price and you will learn a LOT. The instructors are very knowledgeable and thorough.
I agree, it's really sharp! Makes me want to paint the inside of my wife's hard top black to match her interior. Maybe in the summer while we have the soft top installed.
Finished installing my new-to-me rear bumper today. The original was hit by a landscaping truck a couple years back and after 5 years in the sun it was pretty faded so I scored this one off Marketplace. I was hoping to find one like this; if I upgrade to the high-top flares at some point I can...
I bought the JT Brooks deflators a couple of years ago, so you can borrow mine after we air down. They are durable and work quickly - the crew from Offroad Consulting uses them to air down the vehicles taking the 101 Course. The instructor told me they've used them literally on hundreds of...
The driver side is easy if you have an auto trans - there is a plastic plug on the firewall below the brake booster where the clutch master would be installed. You can pop that out, drill a hole, and reinstall. I did that on mine to install the KC spotlight harness.
I think the harness that...
